I HIT A DEER AT 50MPH IN A MAZDA RX8 WITH A ROTARY ENGINE THE DEALERSHIP SAYS THIS DID NOT HURT THE COMPRESOR BUT THE CAR WAS RUNNING GREAT UNTIL WRECK. I KNOW THESE CARS HAVE COMPRESSOR PROBLEMS BECAUSE THIS CAR HAD A NEW ENGINE 3 YEARS AGO DUE TO FACTORY DEFECT I HAVE 2 QUESTIONS. WOULDN'T A FRONT IMPACT WRECK THAT CAUSED 6100.00$ DAMAGE ALSO MESS UP A COMPRESSOR AND IF MAZDA KNOWS THIS IS A PROBLEM SHOULD'NT THEY STAND BEHIND ENGINES AND NOT JUST STATE IT IS A KNOWN DEFECT AND THEY ARE NOT RESPONSIBLE BECAUSE ODOMETER HAS 127,OOO MILES EVEN THOUG ENGINE IS LESS THAN 1000,000?

SOURCE: Mazda RX8 Engine Failure

hi,

see if you can find a local mechanic-not agent who works on mazdas (RX-7s,) take it there or call them and see what they can do. maybe the older style rotary can be retrofitted. maybe call some junkyards and see what they have. You might be able to replace the expensive rotary with a standard mazda 4 cyl(miata) as well. not as much fun, but mazda 4 cylinders are pretty good motors if taken care of.

SOURCE: Need to tow 04 mazda rx 8

Top left and right corners of the front grill pull away to reveal the fixing holes. Make sure you WD40 the threads as Mazda coat the threads with paint. insert towing eyes and turn slowly unscrew and screw a bit at a time as you have a good chance of cross threading if you don't. Keep lubricating as you go. Make sure you take the plastic inserts off completely before towing as you will loose them when towing. replace when completed towing. Good luck and hope what ever the reason for towing it is not serious.

SOURCE: Check engine light came on this morning, mazda 3

I would take it back to the dealer and tell them the check engine light came on not long after oil change. Have them run the code on their dime...it's a reasonable request!

A loose gas cap will defintely trigger the engine light, but in most cases, it will reset itself within one week. Some cars don't have a reset which forces you to have a mechanic reset it for you.

2006 rx8 Son flooded it. I changed plugs and wires runs but no power until 4000 rpm is it a pluged cat or something else about 93000 miles just bought car two months ago ran fine when he bought it. no...

If this is a Mazdfa rx8 with a rotary motor then it will probably be as it is supposed to be unless it is turbo powered in which check out the turbo operation. Rotary engines do not have power under 3000rpms as they need to be spinning before the torque range cuts in. The rx8 had a 13b engine and the latest version of the engine had as much power as a standard v8 above 4000rpms and reved to close on 11000 rpms

Changed battery in rain have lights engine turns over but no fire

The rx8 has the rotary ankles engine in it, these have porcelain tipped rotors instead of pistols and are prone to wear resulting in them not starting. The car should start with a bump or toe start. This will require an engine strip down and rebuild and should only be carried out by a qualified mechanic. (Mazda recommend rotors be replaced every 25000 miles)

Let me know if this helps

When idling from start up runs ok til revs come down then engine grumbles under 1000 rpm

The RX8 is a rotary engine correct? If so these engines seals are not very strong, it could be seals around the rotor. Also, these rotary engines never had a great idle.

White creamy thing on dipstick of mazda RX8

theres no water, theres no coolant, no cracked block, theres no problem, it is normal for an rx8 (for that matter a rotary engine) to have some white foam on the dipstick. all it is is oil being thrown about by the rotors all over the chambers and foaming up, there is nothing to worry about, its just oil. it is more noticeable in 04-05 models and if you so desire you can go to a mazda dealership and the will install baffles into your oil pan or a new one that is updated to help prevent this because they redesigned it after 05.

Whiteish gunk on oil dipstick

I also have an RX8 with this... problem the problem is that most of the people that are giving you these... expert solutions couldn't find their own *** with two hands and a map. Any way there is no problem your mazda has a rotary motor this whitish gunk is normal your car naturally burns oil and with the way the motor is designed this is normal. you should be more worried if you don't see this on your dipstick after running your car.
