Possibly a themostat stuck open, wont let the vehicle heat up to operating temperature, just keeps serculating the antifreeze..

does the motor hot wire test. fail
are both fuses good, IG -meter fuse and rear defroster.
if either fuse blows, the RELAY and blower fails.
so ... check voltage at relay output , BL/w wire, if not 12v, the fan will be dead.
all this and more at alldata.com
or in the FSM
relay is behind glove, box, remove the box. with 1 screw.

2001 suzuki vitara a/c compresor comes on when the heater is on is this normal?

The A/C will come on when you have the defroster on... whether your desired temp is hot or cold...
It is to dehumidify the air to defrost the windscreen quicker

2000 suzuki grand vitara: broken heater fan belt? I noticed a light 'thwapping' noise coming from my center dashboard heater vents and then a burnt rubber smell. I am thinking there is a heater fan belt...

There is no fan belt Cassandra. It is possible that the blower motor is shot. Take it in to a well known shop and have them look at it. DO not run the AC unit it's been repaired if the fan motor is binding for some reason it will make the wiring going to the unit hot and could result in a compartment fire.

1997 Suzuki vitara heater not working only blowing cold air

Hi, I had this problem in my 2000 Suzuki vitara. Turns out it was an easy fix - something had disconnected under the passenger side dashboard (left side) - used tape to keep it together. I've found out that it can disconnect again if you shift the hot/cold lever from one side to the other too quickly. Sorry I don't know the technical parts behind the solution but at least it is a cheap and easy fix!

Installing water pump in suzuki vitara

I don't have an answer for you but maybe a solution. Other than having a shop manual you could try the library. In most cities there is a service that is free at the library. It's called "Alldata" and it is the same system that shops pay to subscribe to. It will tell you in detail how to get the pump out and back in.
