DTC P0449: Evaporative Emission (EVAP) Vent Solenoid Control Circuit , your vent solenoid is opened or the wiring circuit is . The vent solenoid is by the charcoal canister at the gas tank .
P0449
Battery voltage is supplied to the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve. The control module grounds the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve control circuit to close the valve by means of an internal switch called a driver. The scan tool displays the commanded state of the EVAP canister vent solenoid valve as ON or OFF. The control module monitors the status of the driver.
P0449 is a code for the EVAP vent solenoid. You can find the vent solenoid on a support at the rear of the fuel tank. You have a electrical problem if you have only this code in the memory of the powertrain module. May be it's a broken wire(most of the time) or a
short to ground wire.
P0449 control vent valve/solenoid circuit malfunction, This code necessarilly deal with replacing the vent solenoid it about the circuit, the evap vent solenoid circuit may have rub through on the frame (located on the back of the fuel tank),it can also be the connector, the vent solenoid itself,or the connector
It sounds like you need a new EVAP sensor, located by the gas tank. I have done this fix on a Chevy S-10 pickup before and it cost me less than $100, and a few hours in the garage.
The cannister vent valve is bad. You overfilled the fuel tank, didn't you? Well, now you have to change it.. Here is the description of the circuit: This diagnostic procedure supports the following DTC:
DTC P0449 Evaporative Emission (EVAP) vent Solenoid Control Circuit It is the round thing on the back of the gas tank, on the top side... Don't overfill fuel injected vehicles with fuel any more. Fuel gets sucked into this valve and causes instant major damage.
The evap purge solenoid is located on the intake manifold. The evap vent valve is located on the side of the fuel tank. If you have a P0449 or P0452 (I think) DTC, it will be the one on the tank that you need to replace.
P0135 is a bad 02 sensor
P0442 is a evap problem
P0449 is a vent solenoid
i would check the vent solenoid first its a 4ws fuse under the hood in the fuse box make sure you have power to it you should have power at all times the ground comes from the pcm i think if you fix this everything else will work they are all computer controled
