it sound to me like the lighter plug itself is loose and when you released the parking brake wiggled the plug enough to short out and blow the fuse . check to see if the plug is loose .
There is no hand brake. It is foot operated. The pedal will be on the driver side kick panel, and the release handle is under the dash in the same area.
your brake fluid is low. I have a 2005 aveo that i took to dealer under warranty and told them the clutch didn't feel right and the brake light kept coming on. they told me they have not seen either issue i complained about charged me 700 dollars in labor and rental fees and sent me on my way. I then proceeded to take it to the used car dealership i bought it from and they bled the clutch and said they got alot of air out when chevy told me they didnt get any. Anyway about 3 weeks later the light was on steady and the clutch began acting funny again. I bled the clutch myself this time and didnt check the fluid level or i would have caught the next dangerous part. On the 2005 chevy aveo hatch back i have with a 1.6 5 speed shares one reservoir for brake and clutch fluid. I was driving along one day down a 12% grade about 2 mile long stretch and my brakes failed. I filled the brake fluid reservoir at first chance i got considering my arm was sore from operating the hand brake for 6 miles or so. the light went out. It will probably come back on as did mine. the leak in my system was a check valve under the brake master cylinder. be careful until you get to fixing it.
Aveos had a service bullatin for some 04 and 05 models. Bad valves, had to have head reworked and solved problem. took car to 3 chevy dealers to find problem..
Sometimes particular clutch packs can fail and the computer won't set a code. The only time a code can be set is if a sensor actually "sees" a problem. Possibly in this case, the clutch pack can fail but the proper line pressures are still right because the front pump is supplying proper pressure and the servos are applying the clutches. Probably the cheapest way to determine your problem would be to drop the transmission pan and carefully catch the fluid in a container. Then, check the fluid and the inside of the transmission pan for clutch debris. This sounds like an amateur way to do it but if it were in my shop, that would be my first step in diagnosing the problem. Good luck!
