Have you checked the tank?
Descending unit which ats like a float measuring device sliding up or down with fuel levels . Has one wire connected tht goes to harness sends signal to fuel gauge representing the ammount of tank it's down to, or what's left . Trippy or twitchy fuel reading floating guage ? Error withing descending unit on fuel pump which is inside fuel tank.
I'm not sure I am understanding your question. The low Fuel indicator light comes on, depending on how sensitive it is set, when you have between 2 and 5 gallons of gas left in the tank. This also depends on how accurate your fuel level sending unit is reading the fuel level in the tank. The low fuel level light depends on the level of fuel in the tank itself but other than using that sensor it has nothing to do with the fuel gauge itself. The fuel gauge may or may not be accurately showing the fuel level.

You can take out the part of the dash where the guages are and change the little sensor/fuse behind the fuel guage, they should have a replacement part at orileys or autozone

try supplying the radio with a new power line and earth, sounds like the radio power has been taken from the wrong place or there is a faulty earth commection.
SOURCE: my fuel gage shows low fuel just filled the tank,
you most likely have a fault in the fuel sensor that sits inside the fuel tank.
will need to be replaced if you cannot stand the annoying low fuel beep that will keep coming on.

no, maybe the fuel level switch, fuel gauge, or the wiring inbetween

I think that your fuel level sending unit inside the fuel tank may be at fault. Because the sending unit is immersed in fuel, and the float arm is constantly moving as the fuel sloshes around inside the tank, the sending unit can eventually wear and send an erratic signal to the instrument cluster. Another type of failure can occur if the sending unit becomes coated with deposits from fuel that will also affect how accurate the sender signal is. Before replacing the sending unit I would try using a fuel injector cleaner that has the additive "Techron" in it to see if this would clean off any accumulated deposits on the sender and restore it to working order. I've had pretty good results using this approach on several vehicles in the past few years and if it doesn't help you're not out much more than the cost of the cleaner. Good luck, hope this helps!
