2009 Honda Pilot randomly fails to recognize one of our key fobs to unlock the doors or open the hatch. Is there an easy solution? We took the car to Honda and they want to charge us $139 to fix the problem with this key fob! With the car only being one year old, you would think they would fix this.

SOURCE: battery low on key fob

There are 2 or 3 ways to approach this. 1, the owners manual may tell you, the dealer can tell you (and change it), you can open it up and take it out and read the size on the battery. They are readily available. Be careful not to touch the new battery with your fingers (use tissue or gloves) as the oil on your fingers will cause it not to work or shorten its life.

SOURCE: My 2003 Honda CRV ...drivers side door does not

you may need to replace the door locking actuator, they do tend to go bad over times. does the driver side door lock automatic when using the lock button on the driver side. if you can lock and unlock the driver side door with a switch, my guess would not be the locking actuator, it might be in the remote locking module.

Testimonial: "Thanks for the help. everything relates back to the actuator.."

SOURCE: honda ridgeline key fob program

If it is a factory keyless system than you do need it done by the dealer, but if it is an after market system then reply back with manufacture and model.

Jeep liberty 2006 power lock will lock but not unlock

there are 3 ways to lock.
key metal
on door switches
and the FOB, RKE.

so is this a fob question? key fob? only failure???????
did you know that many fob modes are PROgrammable?
the operators guide tells you how to do that.
did you try both fobs, that came with car new., if not why not?
did you replace the 8 year old fob batteries, no , why not now.?

on my 08 (for example) :
can program it to only open drivers door. or all.
and autolock feature off or on.

on my other car all was worked fine. then drives door failed
to open (all 3 fobs fail, one is new) the door solenoid was bad.
$100 part. now fixed, by me.
so do all fobs fail. if in fact this is a FOB question
RKE (called remote key entry by jeep)

i have 4 fobs for my jeep now. you must have 2 good keys.
to make a 3rd by self.
so keep 2 , never ever used. to be self sufficient.
this is not a door issue, above 3 lines, its a not getting stranded issue.

Having problem with the beeper for my honda pilot 2004 its not the bateries can't open the dors with beeper..

In the case the battery was drained in the keyfob - try reprogramming it.
Here are the instructions.

The process is pretty easy....1st) get in the vehicle and close all doors, windows, hood, and trunk.
2nd)put the key in the ignition and turn it to the second position...while in that position (w/out starting) push the lock button on the good key fob you already have. (if you don't already have a good fob, then press the lock button on the new key fob) (do this all w/in 5 seconds)
3rd)turn the key off
4th) turn the key on to the second position and press the lock button on the fob.
5th) turn the key off
6th) turn the key on to the second position and press the lock button on the fob.
7th) turn the key off.
8th) turn the key on to the second position and press the lock button the the fob.....the press the unlock button on the fob..........Now press the lock button on the new fob...press the unlock button on the new fob....
9th) tun the key off.....remove the key from the ignition and test to make sure that the new fob and the old fobs both work now.

Resetting a Key fob on 2007 Honda Pilot

to program a key fob- get in vehicle and close all doors. insert key into ignition, have all the key fobs you want to program for this vehicle in hand, programing erases all old fobs. turn the ignition switch to on(all dash lights light up, on click before starting the car). then hit the lock button on one of the fobs. turn the ignition to lock. turn the ignition back to run and press the lock button again from the same remote. repeat untill all the locks cycle. ones the locks cycle keep the ignition in run and press the lock button on each key fob(the ocks will cycle each time a button is pressed). then turn the ignition to lock after all fobs have been programed

The rear door/hatch is stuck closed.

sounds like the link as disconected in the rear door, which needs the panel off to fix, which is no easy job if you cant open the hatch

Rear door on 97 bravada can't be unlocked to open

No easy way to do this - you need to remove the inside door panel from inside the truck and manually release the lock. You didn't say where the wiring was burnt, but when the door is open test for power at the lock solenoid - if not there when unlock is pressed, inspect the wiring (particularly at the two rubber wire casings connecting the door to the frame). If it is there, the lock solenoid is stuck and may have to be replaced.
