2000 sebring. Overheats with air conditioning on.

I replaced the radiator cooling fan and it still overheats with ac on. Fan is working proper. Fan runs fast at idle with ac on. Temperature is fine until about 40 minutes with ac on then temerature rises fast.

Freeze plugs no good

I just had my coolant flushed and my radiator cooling fan replaced. The car was slightly overheating and would "gargle" in the coolant bowl after I turned the engine off. It turned out to be the radiator was clogged up on one side.

I went full tilt and replaced the radiator, water pump, thermostat, radiator cap and timing belt. I have 85,000 miles on the car and it was about time to do these things anyway. It is running like a new car now.

The radiator fan on my 2007 bmw 525i works fine while car is driving. Once i stop at a red light or in traffic the the fan stops working, ac blows hot air and mins later the car overheats. The car has a...

My guess is that your electric fan is NOT operating at all. Under normal conditions, just going down the highway, your cooling system will function just fine without a fan running. The air flow through the radiator is adequate to keep things cool. However, when you stop, you quickly get into an "overheat" situation. Actually, you should be able to hear your fan begin operating when your engine temperature starts climbing or your air conditioner requires the fan to do its thing. Note: If you've ever severely overheated your engine, your problems may be worse than just a fan not running, but you really do need to confirm whether your fan is operating correctly, or not. Another note: I had a vehicle with a tendency to overheat when stopped. It turned out to be a faulty (leaking) pressure cap on the cooling system.

check for low coolant level make sure coolant system been bleed from air.make radiator full coolant and coolant reservoir on the full cold mark.if all is good the cooling fan relay could be bad or the engine coolant temperature sensor could be faulty.

2000 crown victoria overheats with ac off

The AC runs the fan that cools the AC condenser and the radiator. You may have a problem with the cooling fan for the engine only or its control circuit, this fan is controlled by the main computer in the car called the PCM, you need the dealer to perform a test that operates the cooling fan and delivers back fault codes for any problems found with its operation.

Engine Cooling problem 2000 Jeep Cherokee 4 cyl

Although the 4 cylinder is too underpowered to have air conditioning in my opinion, it still shouldn't overheat within 10 minutes unless something is wrong. If your Jeep doesn' not overheat when you are driving WITHOUT AC on then your compressor might have a problem and causing the engine to work too hard to turn it.

But if it overheats without the AC on, then the first thing you need to do is check the cooling fan and see if it operates! There has been a lot of problems with the cooling fan relay on this model. If that isn't it, then move to changing the thermostat and checking the water pump.

2004 GTP Grand Prix overheating in slow traffic cools down when on highway. What would cause this? Previously replaced was thermostat, water pump & both radiator hoses.

Are the cooling fans coming on during normal operation? If your ac works turn it on and see if it overheats with ac on.If it does not overheat the fans are not operating properly under normal operating conditions. The ac will force the fans on. What you can do to start is just let the car idle in park and see if fans will come on normally. The coolant temp should reach 200-210 before the fans will come on. Make sure the air is off at this time. If we can verify the fans are working or not working properly we can go to the next step. Let me know what you find out.

My 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee overheats in traffic

Check the fuse for the fan and use a test light to make sure that the circuit is functioning. Warm up your car then feel along the top and bottom of the radiator to check for cold spots. If you find any then you may need to replace your radiator. If your heater isn't currently working it may be that since it is a part of your cooling system.

Over heating and radiator leaks. overheats after sitting at idle for around ten minutes. its a 5 speed manual transmission 2000 chevy 2 dr cavalier.

if there is a leak then of course you will get overheating from the engine..Be very careful as this can cause permanent damage to the head gasket and it will cost a lot more to fix..First try to stop this leak before you proceed further.

I have a 1999 chevy lumina and it overheats when i am just idling and the ac is on.

This problem can be caused by a faulty cooling fan, lack of coolant circulation thru the radiator ( bad water pump, partially closed thermostat) or a partially clogged radiator. Make sure the radiator and condenser in front of the radiator are not full of dirt and clogging the air flow also.

1999 plymouth grand voyager overheats when the ac is on

when the ac is on the computer is looking at pressure in the ac system to control the cooling fan operation if the pressure is increasing the cooling fan is commanded on now if the pressure switch is bad or if the ac system is low on refrigerant it is not building pressure and the cooling fans are not going to come on.
