As with many newr cars, Your radio probably had a security code which is required to reset it after the radio is removed or power was disconnected from it. You probably have the code written somewhere in your new car paperwork. If not, contact your dealer. They can probably guide you through resetting the code.
Had the same problem with my2010 Fusion; After replacing the battery I had the dealer replace the radio fuze;radio works fine now. BTW, that fuze box is tough to work around. The manual is correct, the fuze box is where the manual states but you won't believe it. good luck.
