Your heater core is leaking. The heater core on your 2001 Jeep Cherokee is responsible for providing heat in the cab of your Jeep.
Overtime, he heater core can become
plugged with dust or corrosion and stop working causing it to leak. The heater core is linked with the antifreeze that runs in the radiator in turn draws heat from the engine and than uses that heat to warm up the car. If you check the rug on the passenger side you may find that it's damp. Even if it's not it is very likely that the heater core is beginning to leak. It's pretty expensive to repair but if you catch it very early a bit of radiator sealer may hold it for a while.

Radiator sealer? Pour it in the radiator or in the plastic side resevoir?

Don't put sealer in the reservoir there isn't enough circulation there and it will fall to the bottom and stay there. You put it in the radiator itself with the engine running and heater on full heat.. Remove the cap and start it, adding the sealer after it reaches operating temp and the thermostat is open. Sealer can't be considered a permanent repair but I have seen it often work especially on small leaks, for up to a year.
