My back hatch door on my HHR won't open. I tried to open the little panel hole to open it manually like the manual said, but I can't figure it out. Is it a fuse problem? Thank you
There is a small hook on the right(driver side) of the latch that you can push with a screwdriver (it is hard to see you have to poke around a little)after you take the panel plug out of the rear door cover.I have the same problem I found that that the coil has become week and it does not have enough power to push the lath open. GOOD LUCK [email protected]
Some of the earlier HHR's do not have the release. You will have to pull the small panel in the lower center of the door and actuate the latch with a screwdriver.
It most likely will be the fuse for the hatch, I would definately check out the fuse before trying other things. If the fuse is ok then it could be the release motor on the hatch.
Good luck..
Im actually not familiar with that vehicle, I never worked on that vehicle so I couldnt tellyou how the manual works, some vehicles you have to insert the key to open it manually or use your trunk / hatch release button on the remote, others have a manual handle under the drivers seat or a push release button inside the glove box , center console or somewhere by the drivers dash. Sorry I cant give u more info on that car.
Good luck and if resolved please dont forget a to give me a good rating or vote..

Thank you, I will try the fuse first. Do you know how the manual unlock works?
Rear hatch won't open manually or via remote.
