Low Engine Coolant. You perhaps have leaky coolant tank.
Check if the tank holds coolant.

2001saturn sl1 will not start everytime. battery is good, replaced neutreul saftey swich and same problem still occurs. will start then turn the car off and try to start again it wont.

Hello: This could be a pass-lock problem. If the security light is flashing you may have to replace the ignition lock cylinder and housing.

Sounds like a low coolant indicator.
Is the car running hot? Check and top off coolant (Radiator fluid) but do NOT open radiator cap if the engine has run in the past hour. Most times you top off the fluid by filling seperate reservoir

USUALLY THAT MEANS YOUR LOW ON COOLANT. IF YOUR NOT LOW AND STILL STAYS ON THE SWITCH IS BAD

I have a 2000 sl2 saturn and a dash warning light keeps coming on. its a square box with an arrow pointing down with a wavy line at bottom of arrow. what does it mean?

It may be the temperature light. It's hard to say by your description. Take a look inside the owner's manual to confirm.

Hi... thanks for suggesting some kind of assistance at my cost.. but i know it's a simple answer, i just don't have the manual, otherwise i wouldn't of asked. So, i'll ask a mechanic friend next time i'm out and about.

I don't know what the light that came on means.

That light indicates you are low on coolant. Make sure the engine is completly cold and remove your radiator cap, fill to top with new coolant, also fill reserve bottle to cold line.

Hello: That light means either the cooling system is low on coolant and/or a failed coolant sensor. Check the surge tank under the hood if it is empty, fill it to the level indicated. If low it could mean the cooling system has a leak. If tank is full then possibly you have a failed sensor.
