It is electric. It is mounted in the center on top off the air plenum. You have to remove the dash to get to it. Last one I did was the heater core. 2003, had to remove the dash out of the vehicle, drop the steering column and remove the air plenum. All day job. You need a manual, lots of nuts, bolts, and screws to remove.
the operators manual is clear.
says, get engine scanned and serviced , at jeep or any ASE shop.
for DIY, you never say if this is a DIY question>??????
if diy , you SCAN it, and use a SCAN too
beg, barrowed, rented or bought.
your call.
My blend air door is stuck on my 2010 liberty. I have removed the actuator panel on the drivers side and the middle door that controls the air flow to the dash is completely seized. There are 4 blend air doors on this liberty, 2 control the heat/ac and 2 control the air flow.
there is no access to them from the drivers side and the passanger side looks like I have to cut into the air box to get to them.
