I have my key stuck in the ignition of my 2007 Buick Lacross. How do I get it out.

Sounds like the battery or the ignition switch has gone bad. The key won' release until the shift lock solenoid is energized to allow the key to turn all the way back.

My key won't go into ignition on my 2007 jetta

Try moving wheel back and forth while putting key in. Or if thats not it, take a screw driver flathead and try to turn ignition both ways just a bit. Sometimes those key cylinders dont go back into the open key position. Try that as you are moving the whhel as well. but my car does the same thing in the cold, and a screw driver seems to do it every time. Good luck let me know how you make out. PS Im guessing that ther is not something stuck inside ignition?? Good luck

I put key in ignition and it won't turn. Steering wheel will turn but key won't turn. We have 2 keys and neither will work. What can I do?

If the wrong key was inserted it may have bent a tumbler pin, maybe try some wd-40 or similar and work it with the right key, might drop the tumbler back,,if not the whole ign. cylinder will have to be changed

My key won't turn in the ignition. Therfore can't start the car.

Either steering is got stuck, try wiggling the steering wheel a bit, then try.Or the car is not in park mode.Check that.If its in park mode. Then try another key, if you have one.In most cases car owners have 2 to 3 car keys.Try with another key and see if its working. But if its not working with other key, then problem is ignition cylinder.-- Click the link below for more help:--- http://howtobyme.blogspot.com/2011/10/car-key-will-not-turn-in-ignition.html ------------- This will help.Thanks.Helpmech.

The most likely source of your problem is a worn or damaged key. If you have a spare key try using it to see if the ignition turns any easier. Replacing the key cylinder would be the next likely fix, and it would typicall come with a new key as well. Sounds like the ignition switch is working properly, just that your key isn't turning like it should. Have had similar problems with my daughter's 98 Bettle, but her's was related to the steering wheel locking up when she parked against a curb stop or when her wheel was turned too much in one direction or the other when she turned the car off. If she pulled hard on the steering wheel she was able to overcome the periodic problem.

She also had problems with the "brake light switch" which when it fails will not allow the car to start. Ealier VW Beetles had a recall on this switch, free replacement by the dealers. Not sure what year your Beetle was, or if you had this problem fixed.
