If you have lost the tach signal on your 1999 F250 Super Duty 7.3 diesel with the Astrostart remote starter, there are a few things you can try to get the signal back:
Check the wiring: Make sure all the wiring connections are secure and free from damage. If there are any loose connections or damaged wiring, it could cause the tach signal to be lost.
Check the tach signal wire: Make sure the tach signal wire is connected to the correct wire on the truck's wiring harness. The tach signal wire should be connected to the green wire with a red stripe on the 7.3 diesel engine's wiring harness.
Reset the remote starter: Try resetting the remote starter by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes. This can sometimes help to reset the system and restore the tach signal.
Check the settings on the remote starter: Make sure the settings on the remote starter are correct for your vehicle. You may need to consult the owner's manual or contact the manufacturer for assistance with this step.
Consult a professional: If none of these steps work, you may need to consult a professional technician or electrician who has experience working with remote starters and tach signals on diesel engines. They will have the knowledge and tools needed to diagnose and repair the issue.
That looks like some internal issue, try reaching the wiring systems. You can try getting a manual for your model here. They also sell wiring diagrams I guess. Here's the link Best Manuals
All the best !
they don't have a remote wire unfortunately, you will have to wire your amp on, or remote signal to key on power supplied to the radio, and your amp will come on when you start the car as your radio does.. the only other option is if you have power antennae you can tap into that power source as it turns on when you turn the radio on..
if not rolling over you need a new starter which is a resonable price.if rolling over you could need plugs or wires or coil.if it is tryin to start it is either gas or electric problem.if not running at all it is definetly a new starter will have you up and running.i hope this is some help to you.
it could be the switch,it could be the power window regulator,it could be the wiring in the door where the door meets the body, sometimes the wires in there break and cause this issue,,,go to the dealer to get parts,
Saturn Ion's are known for major faulty wiring...This is especially true in the ignition switch when it is cold and the radio going out...The faulty wiring probably ruined your radio...
