First, there is no 'fuse' identified in either of the Haynes or Chilton's manuals. I've looked. There could be a 'fuse link' somewhere in the line, as it's incomprehensible the folks at Chrysler would design this vehicle with a fire hazard built into it like that, no fuse or fuse link or relay known, but the mythological 'fuse' referenced in the troubleshooting section of both manuals.

In any case, if the vacuum line appears to not leak when you open it and **** on the line going to the rest of the vacuum system, or pull vacuum on it with a small handheld vacuum pump, and it doesn't leak, it then becomes an 'electrical' issue.

mine worked flawlessly for a a long time, and suddenly without warning 'died' and wouldn't work one day. It didn't go out on the job, in other words.

last but not least, references to the brake switch are made, but if the brake lights work, that seems to eliminate the brake switch as a possibility.

sounds expensive taking it to a Jeep dealership, but if you have a reputable one (hahahahahahah!) in your vicinity, they might zero in on it fast and fix it cheap, then again, they may not. Driving this vehicle without cruise control across country isn't so bad, but it requires a lot of foot wedging near the pedal, to get that done without having a very tired leg over time.

Mine turned out to be the brake switch. I could get it to work by tapping the back of the brake pedal with my foot, but it wasn't too reliable that way. The brake lights always worked.

Just in case you haven't got this fixed already, I just noticed on my 93, the cable from the vacuum control, (the cone shaped device on the passenger side near the coolant overflow ) was sitting against the tubes from the ac compressor, it had started to melt from me using the ac, if it melts through I am not sure if it would cause a vac leak, but if it did, you would only be able to detect it with the cruise on, not easy to check with the vehicle parked. I used a couple of cable ties to secure it away from the tube..not sure if you can tape around it to fix if it has melted.
just thought I would throw it into the mix.

When I bought my 93 jeep grand cherokee the cruise control did'nt work due to the plastic connector attached to the throttle bracket being broke. Could not find one anywhere, so took a large round electrical crimp (actually used 2 ) and fitted them to the trans. Kit down cable and the cc module cable and used a c clip to attach both to throttle shaft. Works good. When I push resume it searches a little. Has anyone else run into this problem and if what was your fix?

Check the vacuum hoses it is easy to notice if one is missing or not. If that doesn't work, I'd try the cruise control switch. Hope this helps

Cruise control just quit working

Check fuses/relays and make sure they are all good; if so check the electrical wiring/connectors in the dash. Jeeps are notorious for loose wires in the dash.

2003 jeep grand cherokee cruise control not working.

Ok, the '03 Jeep Grand Cherokee uses a small vacuum line to control the servos. Since your light comes on, it's obviously getting power. 9 out of 10 times it's the vacuum hose.
Pop the hood and look on the passenger side towards the back for the engine coolant reservoir. It's most likely underneath it so you may have to remove the res. Check the vacuum hose and all vac. connections then check the electrical connections. If that's not the problem, check the cruise control connection to the throttle linkage.
If that still doesn't do it, you may need use scan tools and diagnostic procedures that are out of the scope of home mechanics.
Wish ya luck!

Cruise not working is there a fuse for 2000 jeep grand cherokee?

Look on the drivers side of the intake manifold to see if the vacuum line fell off. It will be a 90 degree elbow coming down from the firewall area.
