I have just had 2 new tires installed on my 1997 ford expedition. As i was driving home i noticed that the "Check Susp" light is on. This light has never been on before this. Could it have been something the tire installation person has done.

They probably picked the vehicle up on a lift and let the suspension hang.... Air ride suspension has a device to monitor vehicle height. They should have disabled it first... Now you have a serious problem.. Take it back to them and let them fix it.$$$$

More than likely the shop employees forgot to turn on the air suspension override switch after installing the tires.I have seen this happen many of times.Open the passenger front door and you will see where the switch is located at.It is on the right side of where your right foot normally sits.Simply switch it back to the on position and you should be good to go.On some models it is placed in the back of the vehicle by the tool storage.I hope I could help and rate me accordingly, Thanks!!

What advantage is there to switching my 255/70/16 tire to a 265/70/17 driving a 1997 expedition

Tires are not my area of expertise however I know that when a car is designed the specs for drive train and pull of tires are calibrated . Although the look maybe cool never change the tire specs without checking with the dealership. Excessive pull can add too much stress on the tyranny, bearings and differential causing them to need to be replaced faster. Also u can loose valuable gas mileage and a cool look can cost you thousands of dollars in the long run.

Check Engine Light

You won't know until you retrieve the fault code stored that caused the light to come on. Hook up a code reader or scanner to the diagnostic port for the engine computer, usually located under driver side of dash. Several parts chains (autozone) will do trouble code scans for free. When you get the code or codes, you can then decide. It could be a minor emissions problem, but who knows? If it is running rich, you may need a mechanic to fully diagnose and find the problem.

My 1999 Ford Expedition got problem of rear Air Suspension. After 4 months of no use of my car, battery is drained out, tires are flat. I inflate my tires and replaced a new battery. When started running,...

Cycle the switch by your passenger wheel well (inside the car). Mine did the same thing after not driving for 4 months with the battery drained. In noticed the rear was lower than it should be. Once I turned the switch off then on, it leveled up.

Steering wheel pulls when turning on a curve and my tires are wearing down because of this

check the air pressure and make sure all tires have the same psi in them. If they do, take it in for a front end alignment or a 4 wheel alignment.

Check suspension light is on

I believe this light comes on when there is one of several issues. Some symptoms are: Ball Joints worn, tie rod ends, vibration, bad tire(low Pressure also), alignment, pulling to left/right, shocks F/R check some of these and you may locate why light came on. Wayne

Cke susp. light is on.

If it has automatic suspension or the ride height sensors, and one of the sensors is unplugged, then that could cause the light to be on. I'm not an expert on it, but that's what I think might be the problem.
