Unfortunately, nobody who answered bothered to read your question properly. Rather than insult anybody's intelligence (which would not be too difficult considering the answers) I will go ahead and tell you what you need to know. The simple answer is without a working remote, a dodge vehicle with keyless remote entry (KRE) can NOT be put into programming mode unless you have a working remote or you happen to have a dodge only scanner called a wiTech tool. This uses a Chrysler developed protocol called DRB III to access the non ODB II functions that are Dodge specific and to effect programming od the ECU/EEC. Thats it. One or the other. A working remote or the tool. There is simply no other way to program Chrysler/Dodge remotes. The tool goes for around 2500 bucks used. Your best bet is to go to a local dealer. Sometimes if they are benevolent or you have a service relationship with them they will do it for no charge. Otherwise a typical cost to program a remote is around 50 dollars. Once you have a working remote then you can program spares with your working remote.

SOURCE: I need to know how

  • Push the "Lock" button on the working remote five times. Do this in two-second intervals.
  • 2 Put the key in the ignition and turn it to the "On" position. "On" is the last position before starting the engine.
  • 3 Push and hold the "Unlock" button on the working remote. Hold it for about 10 seconds.
  • 4 Push the "Panic" button for one second while you hold the "Unlock" button and let them go at the same time. There will be a chime to alert you that the programming mode has begun.
  • 5 Push and release the "Lock" and "Unlock" buttons on the remote you wish to program within 30 seconds of the chime. Then push the "Unlock" button once. A chime will sound and the door locks will cycle indicating the remote has been programmed.
  • 6 Repeat step 5 for each additional remote you need to program.

    Keyless remotes not working

Try reprogramming the remotes. Here are the instructions for the procedure. Hope it helps. Cobra!
Programming NOTE: All keyless entry remote transmitters (15K601) must be programmed at the same time.
NOTE: To program (or reprogram) the keyless entry remote transmitters into the RAP module, perform the following steps:
    1. Make sure that the anti-theft system is not armed or triggered.
    1. Turn the ignition switch (11572) from OFF to RUN eight times within ten seconds, ending in RUN. If the RAP module has successfully entered program mode, it will lock and then unlock all doors.
    1. Within 20 seconds, press any button on a keyless entry remote transmitter, and the doors will lock and then unlock to confirm that each keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed. Repeat this step for each transmitter.
    1. If the door locks do not respond for any keyless entry remote transmitter, wait several seconds and press the button again. If the door locks still fail to respond, refer to Inspection and Verification.
    1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position, or wait up to 20 seconds after step 2, to exit program mode. If a keyless entry remote transmitter has been programmed (or reprogrammed), the RAP module will lock and unlock all doors one last time to confirm.

Headlights, interior lights are out and service 4x4 light is on

try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes. Then if you have a remote lock, lock and unlock three times in a row as this will often reset the computer. Or, borrow a code reader from one of the parts stores and see what codes are stored. Once you have the code, go online and Google it.

How to program a new remote keyless entry for 2002

    1. Press LOCK button 5 times at 2 second intervals to resynchronize remote.
    2. Insert key into the ignition switch. Turn ignition to the RUN position (as far as you can
go without cranking engine). Wait for ignition chimes to stop.

    3. Using the working remote, press and hold the UNLOCK button on the remote for 4 to 10
    seconds.

    4. Within the specified 4 to 10 seconds, continue pressing the UNLOCK button and then
press the PANIC button ( on the programmed remote ) for 1 second and release both
buttons. A chime will sound to indicate that the remote programming mode has been
entered ( allow 3 seconds for chime to sound ).

    5. Within 30 seconds of the chime, press and release the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons
simultaneously then press and release just the UNLOCK button on the same remote.
A chime will sound indicating the remote has been programmed. Press and release
the LOCK and UNLOCK buttons simultaneously and then press the UNLOCK button on
each new remote you wish to program at this time. Locks will cycle after each additional
    remote is programmed.

    6. Turn the ignition OFF and remove key.
    7. Test Remotes.
