Bad relay. They are to the right of the fuses (fuses inside the car). You can see the relays if you open the cover to the fuses (they are big blue cubes), but will need to remove a few screws to remove the panel to get to them. I can't remember which one it is, it might make a clicking noise when you try and turn on the cruise. Or you can swap "matching relays - compare diagram on top" and see what else stop working. I had to replace several, my dash when out, my cruise, and I think one is the fan that blows your ac and heat.
I finally solved my cruise control problem by disconecting and jumping the cancel switch connector located in the bracket with the stop light switch at the brake pedal however, the cruise cancel still works when the brake pedal is applied...I'm not sure what the cancel switch does in the system!

As far as I know there is only a relay for the cruise control labelled ASCD and it's located in the engine compartment just in front of the battery....I have a similar problem with my cruise and interesting enough when you hold any one of the three buttons on the steering wheel and then press the main control on the dash the cruise light in the instrument panel starts flashing but the cruise still doesn't activate. This light will continue flashing until you press the main cruise control to off. I've checked everything in the cruise control system but the speed sensor which I'm told is somewhere on the auto transmission housing.
