Cruise control quit working. Is there a fuse somewhere that I can check. None of the fuse box locations have a cruise control label

  • the cooler May 28, 2008

As far as I know there is only a relay for the cruise control labelled ASCD and it's located in the engine compartment just in front of the battery....I have a similar problem with my cruise and interesting enough when you hold any one of the three buttons on the steering wheel and then press the main control on the dash the cruise light in the instrument panel starts flashing but the cruise still doesn't activate. This light will continue flashing until you press the main cruise control to off. I've checked everything in the cruise control system but the speed sensor which I'm told is somewhere on the auto transmission housing.

Bad relay. They are to the right of the fuses (fuses inside the car). You can see the relays if you open the cover to the fuses (they are big blue cubes), but will need to remove a few screws to remove the panel to get to them. I can't remember which one it is, it might make a clicking noise when you try and turn on the cruise. Or you can swap "matching relays - compare diagram on top" and see what else stop working. I had to replace several, my dash when out, my cruise, and I think one is the fan that blows your ac and heat.

I finally solved my cruise control problem by disconecting and jumping the cancel switch connector located in the bracket with the stop light switch at the brake pedal however, the cruise cancel still works when the brake pedal is applied...I'm not sure what the cancel switch does in the system!

Where would I find the fuse for the cruise control in a 2001 ford escape

Not certain if this will help. The 1st supplied diagram lists the fuse in the box within the passenger cabin. As you can see, none are listed for a cruise control module. The 2nd supplied from automotorpad.com in the Ford Cruise Control Module #4 diagram, has an arrow pointed to a Fuse Holder but I see no identifier on the page for the year of the vehicle. Then there is an unsettling article from ItStillRuns. https://fuse-box.info/ford/ford-escape-2001-2004-fuses-and-relay

My cruise control just quit working on a 2006 Dakota. Is there a fuse not labeled in the fuse box that could have blown?

I have a 2006 Dakota V8 4.7L
My cruise control quit working, but no issues with the horn. This all happened after the EGR valve was replaced. Could that have anything to do with it?? Any suggestions??

Cruise control inop. Worked when new then sometime in the last few years it quit. Can't find a fuse label for it in the fuse box.

Hi the fuse may be under the bonnet for the cruise control, the larger fuses. they are noramlly in a black box under the bonnet although I am not famjiliar with this model

or it may be the switch itself.

hope this helps

Cruise control quit working, so where should I check. I would like to know about the wires and fuses and where to trace them down.

The 1994-95 Chrysler Minivans have four electrical panels/fuse boxes.:
  1. Fuse Block Panel (In Dash)
  2. Relay Block (In Dash)
  3. Micro Relay Block (In Dash)
  4. Power Distribution Center (Underhood)
Fuse block is located on left side of instrument panel, behind access door. Speed (cruise) control fuse is No. 14.
Note: If you have an airbag light on your dash litup, it might be something called a clockspring, which you'll have to take to the dealership/garage to get fixed. (Dealership is probably your best bet)
Hope this helps! :)

Cruise Control

Yes there is a fuse that controls the cruise control, not sure where the fuse panel is, check your manuel.
If while doing the brakes if your repair man was under the hood doing work there, they may have knocked the vaccum line off that feeds the cruise control, check there.
Good luck
