I have a 2005 Chevy Colorado. The driver side window will not go up or down. Is it possible to fix myself or do I need to take it to a repair shop?

The problem is usually in the wiring that goes from the inner fender to the door. The constant twisting when you open the door will break some of the wires over time. You need to cut off the rubber covering and do a visual inspection of the wires,if nothing is fond then the door needs to come apart and the motor needs to be tested as well as power and ground to it.Also could be a faulty switch, let me know how you make out.

undo neg. battery cable. touch it to positive post for 30 sec. then leave unhooked for 4 or 5 hrs. should be good after that. just did it myself and it worked.something triggers the bcm to go into safe mode. maybe a weak battery

The rear clip for the driver side window broke and bent the regulator arm pretty bad. i took it to the shop and they wanted like 450 to fix it. they said the price was mostly in the parts, but i wanted...

I had a similar problem. Both of my clips broke this past winter when the window froze shut. I bought the clips and recommended adhesive but could never get the window to stay adhered to the clips for very long. I purchased a purchased a new, after-market window on Ebay for $65 dollars and put it in myself. Body shops I talked with will not deal with replacing clips because of the problem with adhesives not holding for more than a week or two. Find you a window that has the clips installed during production. It will save you a lot of headache.

Rear driver side power window does not work

This seems to be an ongoing problem. I had the passenger side break a year ago and now its the drivers side. Last time it was about a $500 repair if I remember right.
