Replaced fuel pump. Car will start, but after 15-20 minutes it shuts off. What is the problem?

Turn the Key to the 'ON' position, the fuel pump should run for about 1 second. listen for it. Do this a few times without trying to start the car. This should pressurize the system. now try starting the car. There may be air in the system from changing the filter.

If the pump continued to run after shutting off the car you fuel pump relay was probably staying latched. I would replace the relay as well based on your info. Along with the pump the fuel filter should be replaced too and fuel pressure should be checked. Make sure your ground is good also.

You need to have the ECU checked for any codes.

No vacuum lock on fuel injection
You have to diagnose the problem
with a sequence of proper testing
Check fuel pressure at the motor with a gauge
Check for injector pulse & spark when it fails to start

Do the ignition module it in the distributor

Try replacing the ignition module insied the the distributor

The fuel pump relay needs to be replaced. it is behind the battery and the fire wall.

well that sounds like a relay. if your car is an automatic, double check than you replaced the ASD and fuel pump relays and not the trans control relay.
if its not the relay, its probably the ECU(PCM).
