Correction: flasher may be located elsewhere other than the fuse box, I read.

Older models of the Lincoln Town car had the flasher in the fuse box.

is there a relay switch for the turn signals, they will not work in cold weather? the fuse box does not label actually where the fuses or what is there.....

SOURCE: turn signals and emergency flashers won't work

you need to replace the flasher relay... it's often located in the fuse panel under the dash.... it's generally larger then the other relays.... and it may possibly be blue.

SOURCE: 1997 sonoma turn signal flasher

it is inside, under dash, on left side is a plastic sound protector, mine had 3 screws holding it up, drop this down and straight in you will see a 1" round thing - this is the flasher, pull it out and replace with new one (there are two flat prongs that plug in). It appears this is a well guarded secret!

SOURCE: 1997 sonoma turn signal flasher

The flashers are located behind the instrument panel trim, roughly between the base of the steering wheel and the ashtray, just to the left of the car lighter. To access the flashers, you need to at least loosen the lower instrument panel trim. Just under the steering column there are two screws with star heads. One to the left of the column and one to the right. You need to remove both of these screws. You will need to remove your ashtray. On the upper left corner of the hole left by removing the ashtray is a 9/32 hex head screw. You need to remove it. Once these three screws are removed you should be able to pull down on this portion of trim under your instrument cluster. When you do this it may cause trim around your instrument cluster to loosen that you can just pop back into place with your hand. You won't need to pull down to far on this trim piece as there are still some screws holding the bottom. You should be able to pull it down far enough to see the flasher units behind and just to the left of the cigarette lighter. There are two flasher units and I found that the one on the right is for the turn signals. On the left the other is for the hazard flashers. It may be a hand scraping experience to replace the flasher but it beats paying someone to do it for you. They are easy to recognize because the are silver and round metallic plug ins. The flasher unit on the left is for the emergency flashers and the one on the right is for turn signals. You can place the emergency flasher unit into the slot the turn signal unit belongs until you get a replacement. These flasher units are pretty cheap.

SOURCE: No turn signals or emergency blinkers

I had the same problem twice before. Solved it the same way both times. In my case it was the Hazard switch at the top of the steering column. It was stuck. I knew it was that because the signal lights had been functioning perfectly until I parked my car alongside the road with the hazard lights on to do some nighttime fishing and sip a little white lightnin'. (just kiddin' about the white lightnin')

When I got back in my car to go, I turned off the hazard lights but I had no turn signal lights! So I kept pushing that hazard button up and down for about 30 times with my left turn signal arm down until it started working again. So after having this happen to me twice, I learned a valuable lesson: Don't ever use hazard signals in this car.

SOURCE: 1991 Ford E150 turn signals do not work, emergancy flashers flash constantlly unless the flasher relay is unplugged from fuse block

Hi,

If I understand you right based on your post/description, the signal lights would still turn on even if any or both of the flasher relays are removed. Should this be the case, then the signal lights are not getting the power from the flasher relays but from the brake light circuit.

Perhaps your concern is not with any of the flasher, but simply missing or loose ground more particularly with the rear lights. Perhaps you could try determining which of the wires for the brake lights and signal lights (as they come out of the light assembly) would be ground . A test and even possibly a temporary workaround is to hard wire a second ground connection from the determined ground wire of the lights and attach it to any conveniently located bolt or screw to the body. it may be to your advantage to do this on all the rear lights assembly.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards. Thank you for using FixYa.

I have no signal lights, left or right, on my 2000 Oldsmobile Intrigue. I was having a problem with a front bulb not contacting properly making the right signal flash rapidly. I left it flashing while

Check if your emergency flashers still work. You possibly need a new flasher. Some cars have separate flashers for turn signals and emergency flashers, but some they are both together. If your emergency flashers still operate leave them on and find the flasher (follow the clicking noise the flasher makes) and see if there is another flasher right next to it. swap with the emergency flasher and see if your turn signals work again. If so, replace the faulty flasher.

I have no signal lights

Do the emergency flashers work? If they do the turn signal flasher relay is probably bad. There should be 2 one for turn signals and one for emergency flashers. What you can do if emergency flashers are working is turn them on and see where the clicking is coming from. The 2 flashers are usually very close to each other.

Control ?i have a 1997 s10 pick signal flashers ( right and left ) stopped working, fuse replaced no go, all other electrical working ( brakes /emergency flashers etc) what do you suggest mission

The flasher may have gone bad for the turn signal, and there may be a second flasher for the emergency flasher lights. Look and listen for a click of the flasher for the emergency flasher lights. Then, the other flasher is the one to replace.

Good luck on this repair.

Blinkers wont work.all my lights turn on flashers work just no turn signals only front side markers what can it be?

This vehicle should have 2 flasher relays one that operates the emergency flashers and one operating the turn signals.Easiest way to locate these would be to turn the emergency flashers on and listen to where the clicking is coming from usually the flasher are pretty close to each other.Once you find the flasher unit you can swap the flasher unit that is working with the one that is not and if the turn signals work after that you will need to purchase another flasher relay.

Turn Signals quit working

Sounds like the turn signal flasher is going bad. The easy way to find wher the flasher is hidden is turn the turn signal on and find the clicking, that is the flasher. The emergency flashers work fine because they use a different flasher.

Directionals stopped working

If you have no turn signal operation check the turn signal flasher unit. More often than mot this will be the problem. Your emergency flashers operate on another circuit with another flasher unit. The flasher units are very cheap to purchase and easy to gain access too.
