2004 ford ranger timing marks 3.0 engine location?

you might not have the timing right, it takes 2 or 3 turns on engine by hand checking the timing marks and adjust. first time on the marks you rotate engine by lower crank bolt, check and adjust putting back to timing marks, then repeat till the engine is lined up.

there is one on each side of the engine block towards the bottom of the block but about 6" up from where the oil pan mounts to the engine and are about 3/8" head diameter.

Rotate the engine so that No. 1 cylinder is at TDC on the compression stroke. Check that the timing marks are aligned on the camshaft and crankshaft pulleys. An access plug is provided in the cam belt cover so that the camshaft timing can be checked without removal of the cover or any other parts. Set the crankshaft to TDC by aligning the timing mark on the crank pulley with the TDC mark on the belt cover. Look through the access hole in the belt cover to make sure that the timing mark on the cam drive sprocket is lined up with the pointer on the inner belt cover.

Yep - if you were to clean the harmonic damper (the big thick disk on the front of the engine) you'd find a series of timing marks on it. If you connect a timing light to #1 and point it at the timing indicator, you'd be able to read the engine's timing.

Yes the 98 ranger has 3 02 sensors,they are located in the exhaust system under vehicle,2 of them
are in front of the cataletic converter and 1 behind it.I replaced mine ,reset the codes and the check
engine light still comes on?
