I have a problem with the #5 fuse blowing in the under dash relay box located on the right side of the dash.It protect the a/c,egr solinoid,p.s. pressure switch, the tcc solinoid, and the cannister purge solinoid.plus the shift solinoids in the trans. but the fuse only blows when turning on the a/c.The a/c blows cold for one or two minutes then blows the fuse. The fuse is a 15 amp and is # 5 on the relay /fuse panel.I have tested all the solinoids and pressure switchs plus replaced the bcm/ecm but all i have to show for all my work is a pile of blown fuses. Any ideas Everything works fine until i turn on the a/c then the transmission has to be shifted manualy
I can't locate the under dash fuse block on my 92 cad sts. Help please. The AC/Heat blower will not come on, I think I have a blown fuse.
The conector for the a/c compressor comes with a diode that keeps power from returning after the compressor cycles off. Check or replace the connector/and or diode and see if that fixes the problem
Thank you but as it turned out the a/c clutch magnetic coil was shorted internaly. There was a small water leak dripping on the clutch apparantly for quite some time that caused the coil to short and blow the fuse. I replaced the complete clutch and coil now everything is working fine i also repaired the water leak so hopefuly that ends that problem .It is hard to believe so many systems are protected by a 15 amp fuse. The A/C fuse blows and then the transmission doesn't shift what was G.M. thinking? Anyway thanks again JDABE

Hello i am having a simular issue on my `91 deville only on mine the #5 15 amp fuse keeps blowing when i start the car,i disconnected the AC wire from the compressor and that did not not solve the problem,so i put in a 25 amp fuse in the #5 relay and the trans, steering and engine are all back in order but....i am not comfortable with that high of fuse when it requires the 15 amp so how do i find the problem that keeps blowing the 15 amp fuse's??
I was having this issue. I replaced the AC relay and it works now. You can get one for about $10 online. It's worth a try.
Unplug your egr valve solenoid that's gone be where your issue is I have had about 5 of these cars and each one of them did it and I found that the egr solenoid wire be burnt back by the cruise control so unplug it and crank the cark I bet it want blow the fuse
