2006 ford focus. I have installed new alternator and new battery but my battery light is still on

Checking for B+ volatge at the heavy gage wire on the back of the alternator an the smaller gage red wire in the connector pin #3 . Without B+ voltage at those wire's it won't work . The other two wire's in the connector come from the PCM - engine computer . Computer controlled charging system .

Wont charge, new battery and alternator

Is the battery symbol lit on the instrument cluster ? Check fuses F1.26 30amp in the battery junction box , fuse box near battery in the engine compartment . Also check F2.27 10amp fuse in the central junction box , inside passenger compartment under the dash . It won't charge without voltage on this fuses . Also the heavier gage wire on the back of the alternator should have battery voltage , 175 amp main fuse near battery connection .

Battery light on, got new alt., starter tries to engage, but doesnt

Did you have the charging system diagnosed or did you just guess at it being the alternator . The charging system is computer controlled . The starter isn't working because low power , battery dead . Is there B+ voltage at the wire on the back of the alternator .B+ voltage at pin 3 at the connector pluged into the alternator .
Charge the battery use a volt meter an test for B+ voltage at the places i mention . No check engine light ? DTC'S - diagnostic trouble codes stored .

I have a 91 dodge dakota with a new battery and alternator, but the charge isn't getting to the battery. I left the lights on all day, and needed a jump start, at first everything seemed okay, seemed to be...

There are a few things you can check. There should be a large fuse in the fuse box in the engine compartment. I believe it is a 100amp fuse. If you connect the jumper cables backwards or even touch the wrong post for a split second it can cause that fuse to blow. Also check the connector on the back of the alternator they sometimes are dirty or have a bad connection in the plug also check to make sure the connectors are not open and are making good contact. Do yourself a favor and check all the fuses inside the cab and in the engine compartment. Good luck and let me know if this fixes it, if not I will research it. I will look for your reply over the next few days

2005 ford focus fuse box

There is a 1 amp fuse in the under hood fuse box for the alternator charging signal. Also, there is a 175 amp fusible link for the alternator, which is located under a plastic cover, next to the top of the timing belt cover.
