Replaced car battery and it wont start - 1998 Saturn SL

car wont crank or car wont start? I would say your battery cables are bad,, acid gets in from battery and erodes internal cable parts... need a Meter to check it out.. put the meter on battery while someone tries to start it, if the voltage drops from 13.5 to 10 then it is trying to turn over, I always have the new starters tester before I leave a store, they are remanufactured in Malaysa and they use old parts in most of them..

Wont turn over after replacing battery ??????? When you turn the key to the start position nothing happens ? Have to ask because won't turn over means something else to somebody else .
You have a engine cranks - no start or you have a no crank - no start .
Do the light's on the instrument cluster come on when you turn on the key ? Do the Headlamps work ?

Dose the check engine come on with the key in the start position?

Does your car have a security system on it could be enabled to not let car start

Car not starting or turning over indicates towards multiple possibilities. It can be issue with battery or weak battery. Some times battery's are beon recharging that recharge wont do it, after you recharge battery turn your lights on, if very dim or dont come on, battery is no good replace it, also try to start it it if lights go off, replace battery.

if car wont start.make sure your battery volts are 12.5.if not charge battery.or replace it if dont hold a charge.if battery is good engine wont turn over.make sure battery cables is clean and tight if all good no start .have starter and starter solenoid check.if battery and starter is good.check for fuel .has some one turn ignition to the on position.go to rear of car listen for fuel pump noise.if your hear fuel pump check ignition system for spark.go to auto parts place buy a spark tester.if you get no spark .check .ignition fuses and ignition module.if you hear no fuel pump.replace relay or fuse.if if fuse and relay good replace fuel pump.if every thing good .your car could have crank sensor problem. or your car is in theft deterrant mode.if so have your car towed in and scanned.

Dead Battery, bad altinator or bad starter. Have battery tested first. If bad replace.Then test alt, Before you change starter. Battery terminals could be corroded or loose also.
