1992 toyota celica key wont turn and alarm system going off

The steering lock may be binding the ignition lock cyl preventing the key from turning or the key may be worn out. Try turning the steering wheel back and forth while wiggling and turning the ignition key. To get the alarm to turn off without starting the car try locking and unlocking the vehicle from the passenger side door. There is a micro switch on the drivers side door lock cyl that may be bad and preventing the alarm from dis arming. This is all providing it is a toyota factory alarm sys.

Hi, picked up a 1992 dodge steath RT and the seller removed a custom stereo and alarm. The turn signals are not working . all fuses , lamps and haz lamps andtailights etc working.. The denso reg okay...

Yup, the alarm module is usually located under the steering wheel in the dash (it splices into the ignition and wires in the steering wheel) thats where they would have removed the alarm module. Check for broken or unconnected wires under the drivers side dash under the steering wheel. loose broken wires should be able to see. make sure to feel for wires "tucked up in there." You can also try getting a new/used combination switch from parts department or junk yard (turn signal switch and/or hazard switch ) and seeing if replacing that works.

Ignition starts but is locked from turning off & removing the key

on that year car when the ignition is turned off a pin moves thru a gear with openings under the steering wheel. if the alignment is off the pin will strike the gear and stop you from turning off the car. If i am right you may be able to move the steering wheel as you try to turn off the ignition and get that pin to hit an opening in the gear. If not then something is wrong with the switch or the key has worn out and the lock cylinder is not releasing all the stops which let it turn meaning you will have to replace the lock cylinder. This requires pulling the steering wheel to gain access to the lock. If you need to do this reply and I can walk you thru the process but you will need to get or rent a steering wheel puller kit to do it. hope this helps if so please reply and good luck

The keyless remote alarm went off, I pushed lock buttons on remote to stop the alarm, now the ignition is locked and I can't turn the key to start the car

Try wiggling the streering wheel left & right while turning the key, sometimes pressure on the steering linkage will keep the key from turning.

Ignition switch on a 2002 chevy trailblazer

under the steering column, there are three or four little holes in the plastic covering. If you look inside, one of them (the one on the right side toward the dash) there is a brass pin inside. This is the pin to release the key. As far as the key not turning, I have had the same problem. The first time I replaced the ignition switch and that solved the problem. However, this makes no sense because the ignition switch has nothing to do with the tumbler being locked. GMC thinks that my anti theft system, which is inside the ignition cylinder is the problem. By removing the ignition switch, it reset the pass lock anti-theft system and temporarily fixed the problem. So, try removing the ignition switch and then plugging it back in. If that doesn't work, your in the same boat as I am, and we may both need new ignition cylinders.
