I have a 2003 Saturn Vue. The turn signals and headlights are on the same handle. When I twist the handle to turn on the headlights all that comes on are the parking lights. When I put the car into gear the daytime lights come on and the green dashboard indicator for the daytime lights come on. Usually this goes off when the headlights are on. If I jimmy the handle a little the headlights will come on for a second or two but won't stay on. Do I just need to have the turn signal/headlights handle and switch replaced? How much would it cost?

There is a short or something is broken in the multifunction switch (headlight/turn signal switch). It will most likely need to be replaced.

It is that the mechanic is not using the correct scanner with the right protocol installed to read them

The battery light comes on and off. Got a new battery and it is still doing it. Also the handle on the glove compartment broke off and can not open it to get our saturn book. 2003 Saturn VUE

When the battery light is on it usually indicates the alternator (generator) is not charging. Take the truck to auto Zone and the can check it for you and there will probably not be a charge.

I have a 2003 saturn vue v6, the engine cuts off as soon as i turn on the headlight or the heater, i just replaced the battery.

Sound like a bad alternator, if you had a battery light on it's bad. Start engine with an voltmeter check voltage at battery if you have less then 12.8 volts bad alternator, should have 13.5 - 14.5 volt's.Hope this was helpful.

Service light sometimes comes on, othertimes not.

Saturn 2002 VUE Turn Signal not working properly.

You need to check your left side turn/park lamp bulbs for correct part # & installation.If that checks out you deffinetely have a ground problem.When you have other lights blinking with you turn signals you have either a bulb incorrect or a bad/poor ground.If bulbs check out check your forward lamp harness ground.Hope this helps

Hate to be the bearer of bad news but mine failed at 29K and became undriveable at 31K and after years of hard handling, I treated that car like it was Christmas tree ornaments, fully expecting it to last until I am dead; the engine failed at 57,600. It's gone and I'm still breathing. It was the last GM anything I will ever own.

1. Try putting the gear shift in neutral and then attempt to start. If your VUE starts, replace the neutral safety switch.

2. Turn on the headlights and attempt to start while someone is watching for the lights to dim. If the lights dim while trying to start, remove starter and have it tested.

3. Take proof of ownership to the dealer and have them cut a new key. There is a chip inside the key, that when it's inoperative, will let you turn the key to the start position, but vehicle will not start.

I am having the exact same problem on my 2001 Saturn SL1. I went to Murray's Auto Parts Store in MI and it was 140.00!! for the switch. I'm interested in finding out what you did and if there is any cheap way to fix this.
