There's most likely a problem with the shift interlock system. To get you where you need to go you may over ride the system by placing the key in the on position, remove the liner of the cubby bin to the right of the shifter. This should gently pry out. There should be a button or an opening apparent now. While depressing this button you should be able to shift out of park.

Newer vehicles use electric solenoids to lock the shifter in park until the ignition is on and brake pedal depressed. If there is a fault in the brake switch, shift interlock solenoid, pcm or associated wiring you'll experience what you've described. The first thing to check is to see if your brake lights work. If they don't work then you know the brake pedal switch is likely the culprit and to focus you're attention at that part. The switch is mounted on the brake pedal usually above the pad. Look for physical damage, damage to wires etc. If they do work, it may still be the switch as some have more then one leg of the switch. One part of the switch may work while the other doesn't.

It sounds like your brake light switch has gone bad. Check to see if the brake lights work. If not, replace the switch, and you should be able to shift the car into gear.

SOURCE: Car stuck in Park, wont switch gears

check to see if the brake lights come on it may be a problem with a brake switch under the dash not letting the shift lock release. there may be a seperate switch just for it so check and see it there is two switches touching the brake pedal lever if the brake lights come on.

2007 chrysler 300 stuck in park how to get it out of park

Could be the brake switch or the lock solenoid among other things.
You could try moving the shifter before you turn the key switch to the on position.
The brake pedal sends a signal to the shift lock solenoid to unlock it.
That circuit would need to be checked.

We have a 2006 Chrysler 300 V6 and today when I tried to shift from park to drive it would not move it was stuck. What to do?

I also have an 06 300 3.5 that did the same thing. I was informed that they would have to replace the shifter.($350+) before I let them do that to me I removed the center portion of the console so I could manually unlock the shifter. But have also been told that there is another switch attached to the brake pedal. The brake lock solenoid. Seems there have been multiple problems with this switch.
