With long needlw nose pliers the longer heater hose needs to be removed from the heater core by grabbing the clamp squeezing it open and turning the hose till it comes free of the core, Follow the other hose to the place that it hooks to the engine and unhook it there and put the hose that you removed first on the engine. When you get the new core, the hoses will still be good and can be used with the new core. 2) the quick and more expensive way. Stop at an autoparts store and get a hose connecter and two hose clamps. Get out your sharp knife and cut the two hoses where you can get to them, put in the connector and tighten up the clamps. 3) Another way is to get plugs and hose clamps or reuse the old ones and remove the hoses and plug them the engine will cool OK this way too. Don't forget to refill the cooling system and recheck it after driving.

the heater bypass is quite simple, if you look at the firewall you will see two medium sized coolant lines, remove them from the firewall and link them together using a proper sized tube, you can purchase a kit at a parts store quite cheaply
