If you are talking about the yellow check engine light, you need to get the computer scanned for trouble codes. The warning light is telling the driver the computer has found a problem that affects engine performance and emissions.

It is most likely a defective gas cap seal. They should have recommended this cheap replacement part first.

a fuel cap indication would mean a leak not nessesaraly your gas cap, id check the fuel neck vent hose for a leak

2004 wrangler is over heating,changed fan clutch but still over heating,it cools off fast and stays at 210-220 if i keep the heater on..its summer time. thinking heater coil? or thermastate? also check...

Sounds more like a partially restricted radiator.

LOL LOL, sorry but that was funny(the light description). Not sure but if its the engine warning light you can go to Autozone or Pepboys. They will scan any engine code/s for free. Good luck.

1997 Jeep Wrangler oil pressure gauge not working

The gage is working because it is coming on sometimes. The oil pressure sending unit on the engine is starting to go. I would replace the oil pressure switch on the engine first.

My 2002 jeep wrangler sport 4 cyl engine lite stays on dashboard,it does not affect performance.

Have you taken it to your mechanic to run the diagnostics... I had the same issue and it turned out to be a vapor lock issue that required a gas tank gasket replaced.

It could be as simple as a loose fitting gas cap.
Turn the key on and off 3 times, on the 3rd time leaving it on.
Depending on your system, if you have a digital odometer, an error code will be displayed.
If that doesnt happen, the engine light will start flashing. Start writing down how many times it flashes per interval. It may flash 3, then stop, then flash 4, then stop, and finally flashy just two times. This means it is number 342.
Get online and look up error codes for your vehicle and match it up.
