The deflecter is not working you were probably using the defroster when it quit working you will have to take the dash out in order to replace it with a new one.

My air conditioner will only blow out of the defroster and not my front vents on 2002 ford taurus any suggestions

Sounds like you have a vacuum leak to the control head. When you lose vacuum the airflow defaults to defrost. Check the vacuum hoses coming into the car on the passenger side under the dash. Supply vacuum is the black tube. There are five colors. Blue, red, yellow, white, and black.

No heat in 1997 ford taurus

couple things it could be something as simple as a pencil down the defroster blocking the blend door that seperates the condensor coils from the heater core it lets in varing amounts of air hot or cold depending temp setting. blend door is probably clicking if fan is running.make a hook out of a short piece of wire, coat hanger ,but only 8 or 10 inches long work it around through the floor vent opening . not a fish hook just a small circle bent 2 a 45 degree angle if u can bump the obstruction while switching hot 2 cold and floor 2 defrost it should work down and fall out the floor vent

2000 Ford Taurus SEL ac/heat blows through floor and defrost vents only

There is no vacuum to the controls. Look for a vacuum hose that is no longer connected to the engine intake manifold and repair it.

2003 F-150 air conditioner won't select panel vents. Air is cold but stays on defrost vents, for a long time. Eventually switches at stoplight. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have some sort of vacuum leak to the control head or a faulty control head. Actuators are vacuum operated.

Why is all the air blowing through the defrost vent only

Either the door that controls the flap that either sends the air through the defrost or the regular outlet is stuck or not working. Some of them work off of a cable and others work from vacuum. Not sure which the ford escort uses but usually you are able to hear the flap move when you go from defrost to regular cabin vent. Or possibly the air duct hose has come off that sends the air through the cabin. Good Luck and hope this helped a little.

1997 explorer max ac switches between front and defroster vents

Check the vacuum hose going to the heater control valve,it may have popped off. If that is on. check the vacuum hose going to your recirculation door under the right side of your dash. I hope this helps.

Front defrost vent doesn't blow any hot air.

You may need to replace the mode selector switch.

Air conditioning

I think it is going to be a vaccum leak.
