Have a compression test ( wet and dry tests ) to determine ring condition most likely a broken oil control ring
check the color of the remaining oil as if there is a problem with a badly scored bore form ring failure, the compression fire can be getting to the sump , boiling off the oil and burning the fumes in the sump which is then removed by the PVC system
what ever it is it is a serious engine condition

You are burning oil for sure, if it was a leak you would have a large puddle under the car when it was parked and the underside would be covered in oil all the way to the gas tank. Modern catalytic converters tend to burn off oil so many times you see little smoke

SOURCE: After driving for an hour

I had the same issues for most of last summer. Finally, I replaced the Plug Wires and the car has been working like a charm since. The other problem I found was that I had the wrong plugs. It seems there are only two types for the Focus, the local parts guys quoted me the incorrect part number and my fuel efficiency went to ****.

SOURCE: Check engine light 05 taurus

From what I understand even a "qualified" Ford mechanic has problems locating this and if you look at a pre-2000 Haynes or Chilton manual it shows it being in a completely different location but to answer your question from what I understand (never changed one myself) it's on the passenger side, under the dash and should be by the radio. Should be held on by one or two screws. Also easy to get to if the radio is removed.

SOURCE: 2000 ford econoline jerks

It does it more uphill because the engine needs more fuel. Its starving. How about replacing the fuel filter.

The one quick fix you can do until then when you smell gas in your engine oil is to change the oil right away.

Foel problem

When you smelt fuel, It was flooded. Your best bet would be to replace the spark plugs. Gas will foul them out, just like oil.

2002 Ford taurus, 110K miles died while sitting in trafic. It restarted like nothing was wrong. The car runs perfect and does not act like anything is wrong, no abnormal noise but i do notice a burned oil...

Sounds like a fuel issue - air inline and or moisture. This time of year with big temperature swings, condensation forms in fuel tanks and eventually mixes w/fuel and engine try to burn diluted gas/water.
Basically your car "coughed". Try a bottle of STP gas treatment and if it hasn't been replaced in recent history, replace your fuel filter.

2005 mazda 3 2.3l that is burning oil (no leaks)

possibly the pcv but check if your cars exhaust smoke is blueish or white in color if it does and your car doesnt have an oil leak then sure its burning engine oil along with fuel, the piston rings is defective, since you replaced engine oil the additive that the owner has put with the oil to prevent blowby is gone thats why it starts burning oil.....
