I just installed a radio from a 2004 Chevrolet Venture into a 2003 Oldsmobile Silhouette. When I powered up, the radio is locked. How do I unlock the radio?

Check the fuse.

lock and unlock use different relays

You will need the code that was supplied with the radio. And it was assigned to the vehicle it came from. GM may help, but you have to prove ownership of the current radio.

Check in your owners manual. There normally is a code written in the manual an instuctions on how to unlock it. If not take you vin # into a chevrolet dealership and they can look up the code and tell you how to unlock it. Hope this helps Good luck

I don't have a solution, but a related problem. Our 2004 Chevy Venture power door locks are cycling (locking/unlocking) on their own while we are driving. This coincides with our remote keyless entry losing its effectiveness. I tried replacing the battery on the remote, but to no avail.

open the door and look on the side of door for little switch up and down ,it a safety switch ,little gray lever sticking out on the side of doors, move it up or down ,read decal on the door jam,hope to help robert b.

U CAN BUY IT FROM THE DEALER

If it won't unlock with either switch,(drivers door, or passenger door switch) take the door panel off and check the actuator valve that operates the lock.

the dealer is fulla **** sorry ,the radio is locked but not tied with the vin
and if u take your battery lead off then put back on it will ask you for the code and same if u take it out
the way to get the code is in your manual for the car
or ring the company who made the radio
so what the dealer is saying if it cant be unlocked when u replace the battery it will need a code what do u do ? of course u can unlock it
just do what i said above and u will have your code usaually 4 or 5 digits
