Mcdevito75 here, You"ll have to manually turn the camshaft gear and other gears to re align the marks, use the starter to align the crankshaft marks. Of course you"ll need the shop manual to show you these marks. Worse case, have the car towed to you local shop for repair.

1993 Subaru impreza wagon cranking but will not start not getting fuel to the engine

Could be all sorts of things. If the timing belts have slipped, the engine will usually not start or run really rough. Could be the crank angle sensor (under the alternator, just above the main pulley).

If the belt has slipped, you can check by pulling the cam belt covers off. Usually its the LHS side belt that's jumped. The hydraulic tensioner sometimes works loose and detensions the belt. Rotate the engine till to top dead center on the pulley, and see if the cam pulleys are at the timing marks. If the belt has slipped, you WILL have bent valves.

Hi! Engine timing pulley question and general technical info. We are trying to get the timing correct on this 1993 Subaru Impreza LS. We noticed this one pulley jumps to three different locations,(loc

You have attempted a very difficult task without a service manual! First of all, there are precise timing marks on each cogged gear that have to STAY on those marks. There are tensioners that will keep the belt on those marks as you tense them up. Please do not start the engine unless the marks are perfectly aligned or you will surely damage the engine!!! Get the service manual, if you do not have it already!!!

Looking for the correct timeing marks for crank and both cams on a 1993 subaru impreza and at what pisition should the number 1 cylender be at?

easy money, the crank pully cog has a little hash mark on one of the nipples and that lines strait up and down with the hask mark on the tup of the oil pump directly below the crank sensor, the two cam ullys each have a hash mark on the outer edges and the both align strait up and down with the marks on the rear timing covers.
