the
transmission shops re-builders can answer that.
no year car told at ll or 1995 to 2003 and then changed name to freestart. (an 8 year span )
no engine size told , this tells what trans is there.
no VIN told this tells all above .
in most cases, the answer is complex. vast versions exist. even 1 year.
- has to fit engine, bell and and match TC splines
- has to fit mounts/
- has to fit rear end extensions , 4wd /ALW or fit drive shaft.
- the TCM must like the TCC clutch. electric it is.
- has to have correct gear ratios. not cause TCM to go berserk
best is learn what is the now, not told
the car has a TCC
ford AXOD 1991 up is TCM shifted.
1995
4-speed
AXOD automatic\
1995 -2003 then AXOD muted to these.
4-speed
AX4S automatic
4-speed
AX4N automatic
now you know what is there and some top reasons to fail
lots.
why not ask rebuilders this, ?
each transmission has side tag and
AxOD is only series transmission name a family, what matte all else on that tag.
in the end ,the TCM must be happy, for SURE.
I need to know if a transmission from a 1998 ford explorer will fit a 2000 model
