The V6 Mustang Auto transmissions from 1999-2004 Auto transmissions will be compatible as the speedo sensor will be digital in them. I believe the 1994 - 1998 are all analog.

2004 Oldsmobile Alero. Does the 2004 transmission fit a 2002 model please?

Question edited for a lot more clarity and remove that bad abbreviation of 'transmission'.
Question moved to model category.

There are three types of transmission

Transmission 5-Speed Getrag F23 manual
4-speed 4T40-E automatic
4-speed 4T45-E automatic
But the years are good

What is compatible to a ford windstar minivan transmission

the transmission shops re-builders can answer that.
no year car told at ll or 1995 to 2003 and then changed name to freestart. (an 8 year span )
no engine size told , this tells what trans is there.
no VIN told this tells all above .
in most cases, the answer is complex. vast versions exist. even 1 year.
  • has to fit engine, bell and and match TC splines
  • has to fit mounts/
  • has to fit rear end extensions , 4wd /ALW or fit drive shaft.
  • the TCM must like the TCC clutch. electric it is.
  • has to have correct gear ratios. not cause TCM to go berserk
best is learn what is the now, not told
the car has a TCC
ford AXOD 1991 up is TCM shifted.

1995
4-speed AXOD automatic\
1995 -2003 then AXOD muted to these.
4-speed AX4S automatic
4-speed AX4N automatic

now you know what is there and some top reasons to fail
lots.
why not ask rebuilders this, ?
each transmission has side tag and AxOD is only series transmission name a family, what matte all else on that tag.

in the end ,the TCM must be happy, for SURE.

Will a 2000 Ford Mustang aode/4r70w 4.6L be a direct replacement with a 2000 Ford F-150 aode/4r70w 4.6?

it has to fit,sure.
and have correct gear ratios
4r70w this is only series number, not any actual transmission #
the TCM (part of PCM) must like it, for sure ratios.

the old box has tag on the side, and is bingo for full and real p/n#

How to change transmission fluid and filter in a 2005 Ford mustang automatic v6

A machine is needed to get all of the fluid out of the transmission. Then, the pan must be removed to replace the filter. It is best to take it to a transmission shop.

What all do I need to change when I put this 3.8 manual 5 speed 1996 model transmission into my 1999 4.6 Ford mustang I'm taking out the 5 speed that was in it what flywheel do I need and what else has to...

if both trans are identical then nothing not sure if v6 will fit v8 like bell housing, shifter location sensors. etc you may also want to think about will the v8 blow the trans from the v6

1983 v6 is no fun

give me a welder and a set of gas bottles and i will fit anything into whatever you like.but to be honest i do think your biggest problem will be the wiring.want to really hot it up put a jag engine in.but its most likely worth more in its original condition.high compression engine and not subject to having to fit a cat.but you could still fit the manual gearbox though.OK for when your europeon cousins visit as most of us lot in europe especially spain and italy wouldnt know how to drive an auto, they are only for old and disabled people.plus they cost a lot of money extra to have when you buy a vehicle and thats only if you can get it in an auto, very few manufacturers build europeon cars in autos
