Sounds like the the Bendix is bad in the starter, which pushes out the drive gear to engage the flywheel. You'll need to replace the Bendix or the starter. It's a bit tough to get to the starter, it is underneath the intake manifold.

1997 Saturn SC2 won't start; not even when jump started. New battery, alternator load tested fine; starter was replaced eight months ago without any issues-don't think anything was wrong with it...

Auto or manual? If its auto try puting it in neutral and try starting. If manual than try pushing the clutch all the way to the floor. There is a switch on thr pedal that when pressed it enganges the starter.

2000 chevy impala, starter spins but does not engage

if the starter spins but does not engage flywheel. then its the starter solinoid thats bad. its on top of starter, when key is turned to start, the solinoid is activated, and it pushes the gears out to make contact with flywheel to start vehicle. so the solinoid just spins with out kicking out to flywheel. change solinoid or get another starter. have a good day !

99 Saturn SC1 won't start i poped the clutch to start it when you turn the key over you can hear the clicking. this is my starter right?

It sounds like the solenoid on the starter. The starter is mounted on the back of the engine, underneath the intake manifold. It is a bit tough to get to. I would check your cables, battery and starter cable connections for looseness or corrosion.

Starter spins but dose not turn over

If you can hear it spin(starter), but not actually hear the motor turning over or trying to crank/start..... Sounds like starter not engaging-Replace starter. Small possibility flywheel is damaged, but less likely.

Hi, Need help with a diagram for the starter location on a 1993 Saturn SC2 2door. I have an automatic start and car alarm system. I believe I may have a loose wire or connection, as she is acting up....

sounds as if the starter is going bad or the remote sensor is not understanding the vehicle has started but if you are trying to locate the starter simply follow the battery red or + positive cable down to the starter itself always located at the bell housing between the motor and the transmission

97 saturn sc2

I had the same problem with a 97 sc2. The fix for my car was the temp sensor that controls the extra fuel when engine is cold it didn't sense that the engine was warmed up and added extra fuel flooding the engine.
