I have a 2001 olds aurora, wont start. Doesnt click or nothing, tried jump starting it dont do nothing. Battery is only 2 years old.

when you turn key on is there power to lights radio dash ? if yes check the starter relay and solenoid you can check easily using a test light find a good ground and a test light that works test light on battery first at the starter there will two wires one thick and will lead to battery the other wire is thin this is the wire you want to test have someone turn key to start while you test for power at wire if there is power at the wire replace starter the solenoid is deffective if there is no power at the starter sol wire then check starter relay

hope this helps leave me a comment and vote this was helpful any more questions reply

I have a 1999 Olds Aurora. It ocasionally will not start. There is no problem with the battery or starter. When you turn the key the dash lights up but nothing happens. Its as if the ignition switch...

does the DIC say "Clean Key - Wait 3 Minutes"? If so, your PASS-Key II anti theft system is starting to act up. I had the same problem in my 99 Aurora for years, until I bypassed the key resistor with a resistor pack. Google "PASS-Key II Bypass" and you should find others with the same issue. Check this link out. http://vats.likeabigdog.com/
I went to RadioShack, bought a package of different resistors for ~$10, used an ohmmeter to measure the key resistor (they differ from car to car) and then made a resistor "pack" to mimic the key resistor. Now the tricky part is that you have to take off the dash panel under the steering wheel, cut the resistor sensor wires from the ignition switch, and then solder the resistor pack in between the cut wires. Basically you're fooling the system that the key is in the ignition. It hasn't been completely fool proof (when the car is really hot in the summer, sometimes I still have the same problem - may need more temperature stable resistors), but it has been SO MUCH better than before I did the bypass.
Hope this helps, and good luck!

I have a 96 Olds Cutlass Supreme that intermittently won't start

If the lights on the dash all come on but the engine wont turn over it could be a problem with the VAT security system. Your key has a little chip on it between the teeth and the handle. This is a common problem with GMs', often just replacing the key is necessary but sometimes the VAT module needs to be replaced.

'97 Olds Aurora prob with coded key and Error 22 on radio

If the battery is definitely good ... (checked by whom? I've seldom find anyone at stores that could check a battery to save their lives) are you sure? A good battery should run your headlights for at least 4 hours with the engine not running ... And the terminals are good and clean, your sure? Both sides of the Negative cable is good ... After trying to start it (you say its not turning over or cranking) do the thick battery cables get quite warm or HOT? (why it is killing the battery) You may have a bad starter ... or the engine is seized ... Save the problem of fixing your CD player for after you can start the car ... unless you plan on sitting in the driveway rocking out!

Trying to start a 1994 Olds Cutlass Supreme and wont turn over.

Does it crank at all or is there nothing when you turn the key? If the resistor chips in the key(s) are bad, they shut down the fuel system for 3 minutes and it won't crank. I've had this happen and the problem was solved when I got new keys.
