I have a 2004 chevy aveo and i am trying to replace the rear speakers. When i pop the grill off the top of the speaker located under the back glass in the car i can see the screws but i am pretty sure the speakers (once unbolted) will not fit out of the hole. I need to know how to take off the panel to get better axcess to the speaker?
Are you looking from the trunk to the top of the rear deck? You are correct though in most factory installed audio systems, the size and quality of the speakers is unique and low quality. Generally any aftermarket speakers you buy will have to be bolted using holes that you drill in the deck. Also most car audio place will cut the deck with a saw in order to enlarge the holes for better sound. You may want to consider using POP rivets as fasteners for the new speakers because getting under the glass to use screws can be tough.

you can access them from under the package tray inside your trunk compartment
SOURCE: I need to know how to remove rear door panel
On the inside trim, you can remove screws that are by the door handle, arm rest, under door and side of door and then gently pull back on the panel as there will also be retaining clips attached and you don't want to break them. You'll need to lift the door panel upwards in order to get it off the window ledge. Then you'll need to manipulate the panel and disconnect the door handle linkage from the door handle and disconnect the wiring for your controls. I don't know what speaker you'll actually need.
