I have several engine codes po452, po440,po122. I know what they mean but have a few other problems that might be related. My flasher continually flashes when the ignition is on although the blinkers don't actually come on unless commanded. Sometimes it will stop flashing for several minutes but still works on command. My gas gauge continually reads zero and the low fuel light is always on. Occassionally the gauge will shoot up to full and the low fuel light will go out, then it goes back on and to empty. The box for indicating which gear the vehicle is in rarely works. When it does I am usually in 4 low. Even then it is intermittent. I am thinking a bad ground might cause some of the problems and codes? Any ideas? Thanks.
You should have 3 grounds 1 from the battery to the engine one from the engine to the body and then from the engine to the frame. Look for these grounds they look like braided flat wire. I think you also may have a loose plug or a cut in the main harness from the rear of the vehicle. Look along the frame as the harness runs from back to front. Looking at your codes I do not think they are related to your electrical problem. I gave up trying to fix my gear indicator, I had to replace the fuel tank sensor to get my gas gage working right.
