There is a screw on the side of the transmission. You will need to unscrew this to fill the transmission up with fluid. You will need a pump to pump the fluid into it, also you should check it after opening it stick your finger into the hole and see if you can feel any fluid, tranny should be filled to the point of being able to feel the fluid through the fill hole/w finger. Also check your owners manual to find proper transmission fluid to put in the car, Wrong fluid can damage your transmission causing breakage or transmission to never work again. Thank you hope this helps....

How much trans fluid capacity in the manual 5 speed dodge stealth

never change filter as i dont think it exsists. The fill should be located on the transmission up from the drain. You fill untill fluid pours out and stops then replace plug. Car must be level.

How do i put fluid in the transmission there is no

On the passenger side of the transmission, there is a fill plug and a drain plug. The fill will be the upper plug and it's the one you use to check to make sure you have the right amount of transmission fluid in your transmission. Manual Transmission, NV3500..........2 liters Manual Transmission, NV1500..........2.7 liters

Undo the plug with a wrench and if the transmission trickles out, your good to go. If there is no fluid trickling out, top it off and place the plug back in and tighten to (Manual Transmission NV1500 Fill Plug 17 ft/lbs) or (Manual Transmission NV3500 Fill Plug 44 ft/lbs)
Thank you for using fixya and be safe. Drain Plug 44 ft/lbs Drain Plug 27 ft/lbs

How do u fill the tranny differential on a 1996 toyota corolla?

It depends on if have you have a 3 speed automatic, 4 speed automatic, or a manual transmission.

The 4 speed and manual tranny share their fluid with the differential so if you fill the tranny you fill the differential at the same time.

The 3 speed differential does not share its fluid with the tranny. To fill or check the fluid on the 3 speed automatic you will need to get underneath the car. The fill bolt faces the firewall side of the transmission. It is about 4 inches above the differential drain plug. You will need a fluid pump and hose to get the fluid into the fill hole. The fluid you will need is Dexron tranny fluid.

Fluid leak appears to be off of transmission

Yes there should be 2 plugs on the side of the tranmission for this. one at the bottom is for draining and one about 1/2 to 3/4 up the side of the trans is for filling.

See if you can find the leak and fix that first. After its fixed then get the right fluid for your truck, check owners manual, and fill it to the top of that fill plug.

Manual trans fluid is good for 100k or more.

Manual transaxle

The 'fill' plug should be on the transaxle housing behind the front passenger-side wheel and requires a 17mm socket. the 'drain' plug should be on or near the bottom in about the same area and requires a 24mm socket. To check the fluid remove the 'fill' plug (some fluid may spill out so be prepared) and ensure that the fluid level is up to the bottom of the 'fill' plug hole. (easiest way is with your finger, if it gets fluid on it when inserted, you're OK). Your service manual recommends changing this fluid every 15,000 miles according to my sources. Make sure you don't lose any washers and that the plugs are clean when put back. Your transaxle takes 4.6 pints of GL-4 (75w85 or 75w90) - don't use GL-5 as it can contain additives which can corrode your bearings, and tighten both fill & drain plugs to 22-25 lb.ft. (roughly snug then 1/8 turn) being careful not to over tighten which can damage the threads easily.
Also, 'all-wheel-drives' have a transfer case which requires the same service. The fill & drain plugs are roughly near the center, behind the exhaust manifold. Follow the same procedures and use the same fluid.
