Could be dirty battery connections, bad ground, poor connection at the power distribution center, bad starter relay (in that box), bad starter solenoid (on starter) or the starter itself. If you have had overheating or other engine problems outside chance the engine could be seized (doubtful). Make sure you have 12 volts in the battery and that it can withstand a load test before going further than cleaning terminals or any testing will be invalid.

Van was running fine, went into store, and when I came back out, heard clicking sound when I opened door, van would not start

only thing i can think of trying is to use the key to lock and then unlock the drivers door, this will disarm the security system/engine immobilizer

I have a 2002 chrylser voyager. It has been having problems starting over the last month or so. It clicks once when you turn the key and don't start. If I try for a min or so it will eventually start. I...

Could either be the ignition switch, the starter solenoid or the starter itself. Ask a mechanic to wire start the vehicle, by bridging the contacts at the starter solenoid. If the car starts, then the ignition is the culprit. If the car doesnt start, then it could be either the starter solenoid, or the starter. In my experience, if it clicks once, then it cant be the ignition switch, and if it clicked more than once, it couldnt be the solenoid. So i would look at the solenoid as the probable culprit.

Ignition problem. Clicking from under the hood car doesnt start

Check those wires in the trunk if one of them had power to something you could be grounding something out, dont keave exposed wires exposed to any metal thers a battery drain, or your starter motor just went out, if you can check the voltage coming from the starter it should be close to 10volts, 10 volts is required to start an engine. Also chek the relays in Power Distribution Center (PDC) located under hood in upper driver side corner. You need to try to diagnose where all the power is being disipating to.

2001 Pontiac Aztek STILL will not start.

If the car is clicking, it is most likely the starter engaging, but it doesnt have enough power to crank. Charge the battery or try getting a jump.
