You wont need to change it until at least 100,000 miles. Typically that will last the life of the car. But alot of people, including myself, wait until it breaks to replace it. It is about $1000 to replace because the engine has to be partially disassembled.

80,000miles or about 5/6 yrs depending on your local climate

  • Anonymous Jun 01, 2013

Today I went to the Hyundai dealership for a tune up. They told me my Hyundai Accent had a rubber belt for a timing chain and that it neede to be replaced every 4 years. just like the rest of the rubber belts on the engine.

I am going to have my timing belt changed on my 2007 Hyundai Accent. What fluids should be changed at the same time? Thank you

Your owner's manual contains a section for maintenance & safety checks. Depending on your vehicle's maintenance history, you may not have to change any fluids at this time. As a rule of thumb, every 30,000 miles you should change trans fluid/lube and cooling system flush every 2 years. Brake & power steering fluid need only be checked for minimum level and inspect system components if fluid levels are below minimum.

How often should the oil be changed on a 2007 hatchback accent. ([email protected])

Every 3000 miles for conventional oil
Every 5000 miles for synthetic oil
Or every three months or so if you don't drive that much

Does the 2007 hyundai accent GS hatchback have a "zero clearance" engine? if the timing belt breaks, will is cause severe damage to the engine?

No it will wipe out the valves.. usually all of the exhaust valves. Here is the interval for changing the timing belt on your Hyundai..
"Normal service replace every 60,000 miles or 48 months. Severe service replace every 40,000 miles or 48 months."

How often should you change your timing belt?

Most manufactures recommend changing the Timing belt at around 60,000 miles / 100,000 Km or 7 years, whichever comes first. They have been known to last a lot longer than that but it is cheaper to have it replaced than to risk critical and expensive engine damage if it breaks.

I have 65,000 miles on my 2007 hyundai accent hatchback, i was told i need to change the timing belt, will it hurt the car if i still drive it until i can afford to change the belt?

The risk you run is having the belt break which can cause more extensive internal engine damage. You should at least have it looked at which can be done by a trusted mechanic. When you go in don't mention you can only do it if "it is going to break tomorrow". You should consider the cost of both scenarios. This should be a $400 or less to complete. Let me know if you need anything further.

I would say very good possiblity to be the cv shaft or cv shafts but you might try a tune up first change out the spark plugs and spark plug wires if that hasn't been done in 30,000-40,000 miles. If you have the cv axle or axles changed you will have to have it realigned again.
