Need to replace clock spring which is located under steering wheel airbag, if you are going to carry out repair disconnect battery and leave for at least 5 mins then you can strip down steering wheel safely without possible airbag going off, but you will need a steering wheel pulling tool and the rest is quite straight forward

OBD11tech thinks I have a bad clock spring on my 1999 jeep cherokee classic due to my horn not working & the air bag light stays on. Where is the clock spring & how do I change it?

it's inside the steering wheel
must be careful, because of the air bag.
disconnect the battery and wait for 10 minutes for the air bag capacitor to discharge power.
remove the air bag module from the steering wheel
remove the center nut, then steering wheel
the clock pring is a yellow round piece that fitted inside the steering column. there is a snap ring hold the clock spring in place. disconnect the wiring then remove the clock spring.

AIR BAG LIGHT AND CHIME RINGS PERIODICALLY

I have a 2002 jeep grand cherokee Limited and Had similar problem. Found out that a wire/connection harness had gotten cut under PASSENGER seat.from seats moving back and forth. It's part of the airbag system, it tells airbag system if seatbelt is fastened and if occupant is in seat. Since the wire is broken, it can't report back to air back system and activates the light. try this, hope it helps.

Horn, cruise control, and radio controls on steering wheel do not work ?

The clockspring behind the steering wheel is possibly defective or unplugged. It is the one and only component that all of your symptoms have in common.

No horn in '94 Jeep Grand Cherokee

go to the horn under your hood, check it for any thing wrong, then follow the power wire and follow it back to your steering wheal. this is where your problem is you just have to find out where the short is. and fix it.

Air bag light keeps coming on in my 1999 jeep grand cherokee. That ding is getting on my nerves. Can't find my manual anywhere

the airbag light coming on is telling you that a problem exists in the airbag system. you need it get it to a dealer or reputable garage and have the system checked. with the airbag system malfunctioning it is possible the airbag wont properly deploy in an accident or may deploy without warning
