You really should never touch the wiring harness on todays cars. Aftermarket electronics can not be trusted. If you want to install lights make your own circuit completely seperate from the factory wiring

You should be running a off road relay 4-5 prong from your local auto parts store. No other wires should be touched, its like adding a pair of fuzzy dice, addition, not tied in. Are you running a relay for the fog lights? If not google fog light relay or go to KC lite and download instructions. Dont share power with anything else.

see chapter LAMPS.
then wiring chapter.
schematic is 8W-50 fogs.
wiring + front, (index)

1998 Jeep Wrangler. Front blinker lights blink properly left and right side but both back lights blink at the same time when either blinker is on. But when you press the brake pedal, both back lights stop...

the are shorted, that line,
inspect the harness to both.
good news. the TJ book is free. click wiring,at end.
http://www.jeep4x4center.com/knowledge-base/index.htm?utm_source=cj#service

see that.?
pdf page 19 is index page
the are called Turns sigs.
by jeep
luck for you the car has no computer here, like my JK has.
pdf page 132
see that?
its just a switch and 2 wire feeds and 2 lamps each side.
id say the harness is shorted
and top billing is uhaul trailer hitch hack jobs.
or worse if hillbilly job. (wire nuts fell off, LOL)

you do know that lamps can short in side right?
the metal shell of blub loose and then shorts.
test the lamps 1 by one, in car, or out.
if the bases of bulbs are not loose, they are ok, if they glow.

the combo switch has 4 pins for turns.
2 for front L/R
2 for rear L/R
the internals, im not sure, what can go wrong inside that.
to prove is , combo, , wires or bulbs?
well ,id try to new blubs, they are dirt cheap and way less work
inspect the whole rear harness? any hacking here, or collision damage? harnesses? at these points;

to prove the combo ok
pull C322 conn, and test the 2 rear pins 3 and 9 of combo jack
(back probed) with a 12vdc test lamp.
see if it falshes ok,. if ok the harness is bad.
see pdf page 140, for just this.

Can not get my tail lights to work onk 1989 gmc truc

The front park lights work correct? If the front park lights work than there is not a problem with the light switch since the brown wire from the switch supplies power to the front park lights, front side markers, and the rear taillights. There should be twelve volts on the brown wire from the headlight switch with the connector plugged in and the park lights turned on. If this is true that there is a problem with the wiring to the back of the vehicle. A thorough inspection of the harness should reveal the problem. The dim break and blinkers support the above. High resistance also know as corrosion, in the wires or connections would cause this problem.

99 gmc denali dash light, parking lights, tail lights, and dash light dont work. Interior lights, brake lights, blinkers, headlights work Turning on the headlight switch blows number 15 drl-fog fuse...

You have a short to ground somewhere in the drl-fog lamp circuit. Check for obvious wiring connector or wiring to drl & fog lamps. check wiring for pinched or broken wires coming from sockets. If you don't find problem, you can trace wiring from lamps to main harnesses and hopefully find source of short.
hope this helps.

Need fog light installation instructions

Stop by your local Jeep dealership and ask teh service tech to go over the schematic and wiring diagram with you.
Most Jeep service depts. are quite helpful and won't charge you for knowledge.
Then head over to NAPA and get the parts for cheap.
If you are restoring to factory specs for show car purposes, you should get the MOPAR parts right from the dealer.
Most of the time the Jeep Wranglers have the wiring already in place, you just have to know where to look for the unused plug. At least that's how it is with my 2007 JKL Rubicon.

BLINKERS ON 2004 JEEP WRANGLER NOT WORKING PROPERLY

The problem could be the wiring connecting to the lights, you need to check them for bare wires. Look them through for any metal hanging out of the rubber insulation. You may need to get new wiring.
