Need to know the firing order in a 2000 Ford F150 4.2l engine and what the cylinder order is (#1 front left as you look at the engine?)

Hi the firing order on this ford is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8 starting from the front of engine down to your gearbox, standing facing engine front left will be cylinder #1 and front right cylinder #5

there are two firing orders, one for the v8 3.9 engine and then for all other v8 engines, if you stand in front of the truck with hood open and engine in front of you, this is the order, on your left starting at the front on engine it will be cylinder #1 then #2,#3#4 going back. then on your right startint at the front is cylinder #5,#6,#7,#8.

In the 4 cylinder the firing order is 1,3,4,2 and the cylinders are numbered 1,2,3,4 from the Passenger side to the drivers side.

In a V6 the firing order is 1,6,5,4,3,2 and the cylinders are numbered 1,3,5 in the front from the passenger side to the drivers side and 2,4,6 in the back from the passengers side to the drivers side.

STANDING IN FRONT OF CAR ON PASSENGER SIDE FIRST CYLINDER FRONT IS 1 2 3 ON DRIVER SIDE FIRST CYLINDER FACING YOU ARE 4 5 6 SEE 1 CYLINDER FACING YOU ON PASSENGER SIDE.GET A PIECE OF PAPER WRITE NUMBER ON TOP ACROSS LARGE NUMBERS 3 2 1 AND BOTTOM OF PAPER WRITE NUMBERS 4 6 5 THATS COILS WIRES FIRING ORDER TO SPARK PLUGS.

For the 3.6L V6

1-2-3-4-5-6

Now you need to know which cylinder is which. If you stand at the front of the truck looking at the engine, the number 1 cylinder is on the left closest to you. The left bank has cylinders 1-3-5 and the right bank has 2-4-6. So number 1 is at the left front and number 6 is at the right rear.

The firing order for the 4.9 L engine is 1-5-3-6-2-4, with the firing order rotation on the distributor cap going clockwise. For the 5.0 & 7.5 L engines, the order is 1-5-4-2-6-3-7-8, and the 5.8 L engine is 1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8. On all three of these engines, the distributor cap firing rotation is counterclockwise. Also, on the six cylinder 4.9 L engine, the cylinders are in a "straight six", with #1 cylinder starting in front, and going in order straight back to #6. The eight cylinder engines' cylinders all fire in order also, (standing in front of the vehicle looking back towards the firewall) with #1 being front on your left and going straight back to #4, and then #5 being at front right, going straight back to #8, with the distributor being front and center.
