Ford mondeo 1.8 petrol 51 plate 02 model jerking when driving.
appears to be getting worse.
was fine untill 4 days ago then started jerling in a high gear, low revs when engine was hot.
has got worse & now jerks in every gear, low to medium revs when the engine is hot or cold
SOURCE: check engine light came on and car is jerking and acts funny in low gears
could be the iac valve, idle air control valve.
at the beginning check for air leaks, a scanner will be enough for to know the reason,
SOURCE: engine runs very poor when it gets hot
it has a sensor problem or a blocked air filter ?' if its a sensor then its most likely to be the one on the other side of the throttle linkage
SOURCE: I have a 2006 Hyundai Matrix 1.6 GSI petrol.
My experience with Hyundai vehicles strongly suggests you have a bad TPS (Throttle Position Sensor). Replace it... see if that CURES it. (OR, you can have a qualified technician bench test it to see if it is defective). Your solution.
SOURCE: car jerks while taking off; changed fuel filter
get a scan tool to retrieve the dtc (diagnostic trouble code).
you will get a misfire code.
p0301 for cyl 1
p0302 for cyl 2 and so on.
i can't recall if that engine has plug wires or coil on plug but if its coil on plug replace the coil corresponding to the cylinder misfire
