How to change a low beam headlight bulb in a saturn aura?
Access to change the headlamp bulbs is through the wheel well. The recommended method is to remove the front tire and then the plastic inner fender liner. Once removed, you'll have easy (more or less) access to the rear of the headlamp housing.
The answer above is correct. 1 st remove the tire on the head light side that needs replaced. Then remove the splash gaurd that starts underneath of the car and moves into the wheelwell (Or splashgaurds). There are 7 plastic christmas tree plugs and 2 metal screws. Now you have access to the bolt with a 10 mm head (It is near the flasher side of your headlight body). With a 10 mm socket remove that bolt. Now under the hood remove the 3 screws holding the headlight housing and the five 10 mm bolt heads holding the plastic grill. The grill is flexible so you can remove your headlight housing. Pull out you headlight housing. Now 1/4 turn (counterclockwise) the bulb fixture you want to replace. Unplug the bulb (2 clips holding the bulb) and plug in the new bulb. Note - Do not touch the the bulb with your hands handle only the plastic plug when inserting the bulb. Place the bulb in the headlight housing and 1/4 turn clockwise. Now insert the headlight housing in location. Note - 1st line up and insert the 10 mm head bolt on the underside of the headlight fixture, then screw in place. Now insert the bolts and screws that hold the headlight fixture and the grill in place (lunder the hood). This takes about 1 hr to do. One minute of that time is to replace the bulb. Hope this helps.
Here's a solution, get rid of that piece a **** model! I have one and have had nothing but issues! The blue tooth quit working, the onstar..gone, the mp3 player jack, doesn't work any more. The door lock mechanism on the driver side is broken. 2 batteries and 2 alternators and my 3rd lightbulb replacement....I'm done with it. Have 2 years left on it but going to get rid of it very soon! Terrible car.
I have 100,000 miles on my 2007 XR and only lost 1 light bulb, 1 set of tires replaced, and 1 recall fix. I love the car.
