I've had a 2000 blazer for years. Every couple of years it goes into 4WD low and stays. The solution is a dealer replacement control board ro "TCM" module, which is located in the passenger side kick panel. Not cheap, part is $600. Wish I had better news. Seems it picks up a lot of moisture and corrodes. Should be in a better place?

What probably happened is you tried to switch from 4 wheel to 2 wheel to quickly. This will cause the solenoid on the side of the transfer case to short out. There is a fuse under the hood that will blow when this happens. Replace the fuse with a similar amp circuit breaker. Then try to switch back into high range slowly. Mine did default to 4 wheel low. But when I switched to the circuit breaker and was patient during transfer case changes the problem went away. Hope this helps.

Our 2007 is stuck in low four wheel drive. The other lights blink like it's trying to go back where it should be but it stays in 4 wheel drive low. Any ideas how to get it back without having to t

Sounds like the 4x4 unit has not been used for a while. This is a common problem. If cleaning and reinstalling the electrical connectors dose not solve the problem then, try this procedure before replacing the control module.

Stuck in four wheel high, low wrks fine but won't engage into reg. four wheel

Either the electric motor is stuck/ needs replaced on the transfer case or if you have been hearing grinding (whining noises) the tranfer case needs replaced.

there is a "modulator " on the transfer case with a 3-4 pin plug that fails often.this may be defective as well as the relay component that turns it on(rwhich is located under the battery)...try cheching/changing these first....the "modulator" is about 30 bucks and the relay is about the same

I want to know about the power and the winter buttons. I want to know in the snow if I need to use the four wheel drive high or the four wheel drive low. I have a 1998 Honda Passport 4x4 automatic...

Four wheel High is what you need to use in snow. It is similar to your regular driving experience but your speeds should not exceed 45-50 mph. Shift through your normal gears as necessary and drive with appropriate caution. Four wheel High should be used only as long as driving conditions warrant, using it otherwise can cause unnecessary wear on your transmission and drive-train as well as lower fuel economy.

Four wheel low is used for pulling out of a ditch if you are stuck, going through deep mud or rock crawling. Four wheel low will also cause your vehicle to lurch every time you press the gas pedal.

1993 4X4 BLASER 4WHEEL DRIVE

Your blazer is equipped with a shift on the fly four wheel drive. That means that at speeds less than fifteen miles per hour you can shift into or out of four wheel drive by simply pushing the four wheel high button. If you wish to shift into four wheel low. Stop, put the transmission into park or neutral, and push the four wheel low button. Same procedure for shifting back out. Never shift into or out of four wheel low while moving. And be careful in four wheel low. At full throttle your still barely moving, you don't want to blow your engine up!
