The fuel filter is inline with the fuel line in front of the fuel tank. Inside the tank is a sock that filters the fuel in the suction pipe to the fuel pump also That sock filter is always replaced upon replacing the pump only.

How Do I change fuel and air filters on a 2002 Kia Sedona LX

Air filter, hust unclip the metal clips around the housing.
Fuel filter, undo the bolt at the top, unclip the plastic pipes either side of the filter.
Prefill the new filter with fresh clean diesel, bolt in place then pump the black knob on top of the filter to prime. If the car will not start, release the plastic pipe nearest the front of the filter and pump until fuel comes out, then refit it.

My 2002 kia sedona won't idle until warms up, dies when put into gear ...any ideas??

Is the check engine light on? you could have a bad ignition fail sensor, TPS sensor, or bad o2 sensor. it could also be a bad mass air flow sensor or a vacuum leak. without a code to help pin point the problem I'd start by checking those things first. Maybe try unplugging the mass airflow sensor and start it up and see if anything changes.

Why won't my new fuel pump in my 2002 kia sedona pump even though it's getting juice from the battery

Have you checked the injector rail with a gauge to know for sure the injectors are not getting fuel ?
If the pump is running but not pumping fuel I would think it is a clogged filter or screen in the tank.

2002 Kia Sedona 3.5L V6. Computer reads lean fuel mixture. Already replaced fuel filter and pump. This mixture problem has existed for over 3 years and has baffled more than 6 ASE mechanics. What are...

Fuel Filter and Pump-won't cause a lean condition, unless you don't have sufficient volume.
Air leaking in around injector O-Rings
Any kind of air leak,including intake manifold,loose O2 Sensors,Etc,Etc

6 ASE people should be able to figure it out!!!

Look at all Data on an Oscilloscope.
The fact that the computer reads lean--IS IT a lean condition.
Check tailpipe emissions to confirm,lean

My kia sedona will only start when i prime the diesel filter by hand, then it runs faultlessly as long as i need to. however, within five minutes of stopping the engine it will not start again on the...

Yes it could be the pump, but also it could be a leaking injector or a clogged up diesel filter.

If the injectors are leaking they will be sucking in air and forcing the fuel back to the tank,

you can pour water around each injector to see if any are bubbling. Get the fuel filter changed and have the system bled through before replacing the fuel pump. they are very expensive.

Hope this helps

My 2003 kia sedona is turning off on me while im driving im not sure what it can be can you help me.. it turns on after a little while but then it does it again

When it shuts off turn the ignition key on without starting the vehicle and listen for the pump to run. It should run for a few seconds before shutting down. If it does not replace the fuel pump relay. Also replace the fuel filter if you have not done so in the last 36,000 miles. You may end up with a fuel pump that is also failing and will need replacement.

Where is the fuel filter in the 2002 Kia Sedona?

Hi jlalarcong,
The fuel filter on a 2002 Kia Sedona is actually attatched to pump.
To access the filter you will have to take out the pump, unfortunately this resaults in damaging the pump, and would have to be changed. You can locate the pump/filter in the tank which is accessed from an access pannel on the floor board behind the front seats.
I hope this helps you.
