Just try recalibrating it first.Fist go to a empty parking lot and make sure there are not any big metal buildings or power lines.Press the compass button til it displays C or Cal.There will be a zone number that should appear.This number has to do with what zone your in.For instance I am in Wisconsin my zone is 8.So it depends on where you are on what your zone number will be.This has to be put in order for the compass to be accurate.Once this is in then drive the vehicle in a circle til the compass reads the correct heading.You have to go under 5 mph.Let me know if you need anymore help.Good luck.
NOTE: For optimum calibration, drive to an open, level location away from large metallic objects or structures. Switch off all non-essential electrical accessories (rear window defrost, heater, A/C, map lamps, wipers, etc.) and make sure all doors are shut.
NOTE: To exit the calibration adjustment mode before carrying out a compass adjustment, turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
